Hello, can somebody tell me how long I will wait from sendin N-600 for my dauther, to reseivin letter for her naturalization?

I sent my son N-600 application to Local USCIS which is in our area in ATL, they received it Feb. 01'08 and Isent me the notice of Action Feb. 5, it specify on the notice that usual processing of citizenship is 1 year and based on the processing time of delays in USCIS website its way beyond a year. But We received in mail the certificate of citizenship of my son May 17'08.

So, it took us more than 3 months only. Goodluck to you.

Where u send ur N600?.. if u live in ATL?..Caz I send N600 just last week to Texas, Mesqite Office?...thats not right location to file?..

A nitpick. An N-600 has nothing to do with naturalization, and if you sent in an N-600, there will never be a letter regarding naturalization from it. With the N-600, there's no civics exam, no English exam, no oath ceremony, no certificate of naturalization. The person will never be a naturalized citizen.

An N-600 is an application for certificate of citizenship for someone who is already a US citizen before filing the N-600. It's just asking the USCIS to give a piece of paper which verifies the US citizenship that existed all along. It's used by US Citizens who were citizens from birth, or who became citizens by virtue of their parents' obtaining US citizenship (along with meeting some other requirements).

If the processing time seems like it will be too long, remember that anybody who is eligible to file an N-600 is also eligible to file directly for a US passport with the passport agency. It might be faster to let the department of state's passport agency adjudicate your citizenship than to apply for a certificate of citizenship through the USCIS.

I sent my brother N-600 application on July 01 '08 to Local USCIS to ATLANTA- GA,
They received it nextday- July 02 '08.
Check cased on- July 03 '08
Received Notice letter on- July 07 '08

Now waiting ...Let see what will happen. ..

Got referance on August 8, 2008 - need Birth Certi. & Marriage Certi showing proof of Mother & Father name on it.

Received N600 oath ceremony letter on September 18, 2008 from Atlanta Field office stateing that Ceremony is being held on September 26, 2008. & to bring REquired document.. (Green card & Camera Optional).

We went there early morning at 8:00 AM on September 26, 2008 everything was ready..checked spelling name and all on certificate...took oath, seen vedio of president heard speech & Got certificate. took picture..n done

The whole precess took only 4 month for minor..was easy and very quick responce from at Atlanta Field office.
