I got tired of waiting for my fiancee to get her visa so I called the Visa Support Center in Moscow (or wherever the 800 number is located). The lady told me that she would send an inquiry to the Embassy to find the status. And that I should call back the next day for an answer (and give my CC again). Even though I did not get an answer I thought I would call back the next day and know something. Then I checked my credit card and that scamming Support Center employee charged me $42 for a 2 minute phone call. On the Embassy page it states that the charge is $12 for each call of any duration. Needless to say, I will not be calling again. They are clueless at that number. I think this 800 line is set up to steal money from everyone who calls:( It has now been 16 days since my fiancee had her interview and still no visa...

I said it many times before and I'll say it again. Just email them at:
consulMo@state.govEvery few months someone writes a post similar to yours. Email is free and you do get a response. Maybe not instantly, but in a few days.

I emailed them on the 8th, 13th, and again today. I know they are getting my emails because I receive the auto-reply message each time. But, I have yet to receive any response from the Embassy...

The first time you call them they hold a little over 42 dollars from your credit card1 I am not sure the reason perhaps if you talk a really long time! Sometimes it takes a couple days but they will refund 30 of those dollars to your credit card! This happened to mariya and I!

Sounds like they have a clue to me. They got $42 from you for a 2 minute phone call. I wish I had that kind of a clue.

sense1,
I'm sorry to hear about your situation.
It's pretty much useless to call Visa Support Center. I've heard that instead people tried calling the department that deals with the US citizens in case of emergency and it did help. Try contacting user applewow, I think she's been in a similar situation.
Good luck to you!

When you check the status on the website, what does it say?
Can you prove that the visa was approved and just hasn't been sent yet or is there possibly another issue?

Yeah, I had a really bad experience with the visa support service too, though as the other user has stated about $30 of that charge will be reversed. I emailed them 6 times, and to this day have never received a response, though many people say email is the way to go so your results may vary.
Hang in there, things will eventually move.

I called the number once and they were useless. I don't know what they charged me for it.
