I am a naturalized US citizen

I plan to give my naturalization certificate as proof of us citizen.

It says they want copy of both front/back of certificate.

I looked at my origina l certificate. Its sort of empty on back.

WHy do they want both sides???

It does state on the I-129f application to give front, and back copies of your naturalization certificate, but you are right there is nothing on the back.......maybe that just want us to send them a blank sheet of paper, lol

Well, when you copy just the front side, the other side is blank automatically. Just send the copy of your naturalization certificate and do not worry about sending a blank page.

I suppose the old format of the certificate had something on it. Anyway, on the back of the sheet, write something like "This side is blank".

I did not write anything on the back side and it went through fine. Maybe the old format, as you said, had something to do with both sides. But the USCIS did not update it yet.

maybe there is some secret code that is invisible and can only be read by the service center computers.
