Hello VJ members,

I need some recommendations or advice, Which phone company do you use to call your significant other?

I'm trying to save some cash if u know what i mean, spending at least $110.00 a week right now is not on my budget plan.

I'm trying to find a good company or service that has good rates and also keeps a good record of calls made.

I don't mind calling through the internet either. I'm been using lowrate voip, rebtel, pennytel and some others but they keep

changing rates on me and taking to long to deduct payments from from my bank. I would love to pay 0.20 cent or less to

call Sierra Leone mobile. So any feedback of companies i can try would be great.

We used, and my husband still uses Pingo for International Calls. You can print call logs off of the internet, those are needed for the interview. With some calling cards that is not an option.

good.gif I'm always supporting pingo. We used this when my husband was in Liberia. It was great for keeping call logs and it is very easy to use. Even though he is here now, we still use it to call his family back home.

PINGO is the way to go. I have been using it for over a year, and each month, I print out our call log and put it in our binder. I also have programmed all of the numbers from which I might call from, and pingo allows me to use the service from any of those locations. I have set up speed dial numbers for all of my fiance's mobile phones. (Yes, he is Nigerian, and I tease him about how I noticed most Nigerians seem to carry 2 or 3 mobile phones with them:)

Pingo has lots of nice features, and the cost is very nice. When I am running out of credit, I have pingo programmed to automatically pull money from my bank account, in increments of 5 dollars, whenever my balance reaches a certain low.

I highly recommend PINGO!

I don't use Pingo. blush.gif

I use uniontelecard.com. It gives me options to dozens of different calling plans so I can choose the one that is best for calling the country I need and either a cell phone or land line. They also give you $5 credits for every $100 that you spend which is an added bonus. I can also print out call logs and I have speed dialing so all I do is press the number one to get Bassi, no stress. I can even do it in the car. (don't tell Bassi, he doesn't like me using the phone in the car)

Zainab, I wish I would've known about that company before. Free money is OKAY with me.

I use rebtel and Nobelcom.com
PM me and I can get a $10 bonus added to your new nobelcom account.

The two that I used when making calls were Raza.com and Shopcallingcard.com.

What I have used to keep in contact with my wife is Skype if you have the internet. It is downloaded at Skype.com. It is free to call computer to computer and have web cam available at a click of a button if you have a cam.

If you have IO tripple play cable service...you can get 250 minutes for 19.95 per month. You also have the option of charging your account 19.95 again if you've finished your minutes before the month is up.

Downside: You can only use it from your home phone

I heart.gif PINGO!

The problem with Sierra Leone is that the internet service is unreliable and costs a small fortune to have at home.
I don't like so called cheap calling cards that have hidden charges, such as maintenance fees, connection fees, rounded minutes blah blah.......it always is less than what they claim. The cheapest true minutes I have found for Sierra Leone is 23 cents per minute which is very high compared to other African countries.
If anyone finds something cheaper without hidden charges that has a detailed printable calling record let me know. smile.gif
