So I am at work yesterday and this older woman comes to me for some help (I wear my hijab) I assist her with what she needed and she asked me some questions about where I am from and why I wear the scarf.. she is obviously a curious and educated woman so I don't mind answering her questions. She asks me about my husband I tell her he is in MOrocco.. I procede to tell her about the struggles we have with getting our husbands over.

She replies that she is an MD (she is a minority which claimed a huge amount of respect from me as she was many years retired) and she was going to the kaulkas (sorry no time to check spelling) and that immergration is a HUGE subject that they are discussing. I told her than ask me anything... I told her of woman here waiting years to be reunited with their husbands... about consulate differences and AP black holes. I also told her how a friend married a moroccan she is from England and they had an interview set for him in a month... while most of us wait @ 9 months to a year. She shook her head and asked my name... she replied "thank you for putting a human face to this problem" I explained while I just started the process she is welcome to check out this site and see how many more there are.

She seemed greatly interested.. not sure what it'll do if anything but the fact she stated "huge subject" makes me wonder what they are discussing??? and if they're aware of the problems we face and if there's anything they can do about it.

That's all just wanted to share... star_smile.gif

Hey thats cool. Even if she cannot "do" anything, if she is going to meet someone, you have just given her more education on the process and what people go through. Whether or not they can do anything or not, the more people who are educated and know about the process, the more people who can help in the long run perhaps.
The problem is that most people do not go through this. They have no comprehension because they have not walked in our shoes. They may never go through it, but if people talk, they can at least know about it.

Maybe this means something. You know single drops made the oceans, I believe is small actions turning into something magnificient. Allah knows I need all the help we can get right now and if even it helps people with only a month or two shorter visa journey, it is definately worth it to voice the problem. I am glad you told her about this. I really am.

Thank you Tammy for your feedback... yes I agree I always feel as if Allah brings us opportunities and sometimes we don't say what we feel we should. Not sure if it'll do anything but I really felt compelled to "educate" Insha'allah all this will end for you soon. I know your time line and my heart goes out to you.
