I don't know if they send you one or not. I would think they are expecting to send and receive everything through your attorney. I saw your earlier post about removing the attorney. I don't know what it takes to get the attorney off the case, and that might even muck things up a bit, but there's no reason you can't find out from the attorney what the RFE was and what you need to satisfy it. Then you can supply the attorney with whatever that might be, and maybe specify that you want to have it sent back UPS Overnight or something and you want the tracking number--even if you pay the fee for it. They ought to be able to do at least that for you.

From what I've read, approvals are just a day or two after USCIS receives the information back, so you're probaby right on the edge. That tracking number will give you some piece of mind knowing that they actually got it, and not wondering if the attorney has even got it out the door yet.

As distasteful as it is, it might be better to take the attorney off the case after you have your approval, rather than risk further delay while USCIS tries to get your case adjusted mid-stream, unless USCIS can assure you that it is no problem, but I didn't get that from your other post. LoL I think that after NOA2, it all pretty much switches focus to the beneficiary, so the attorney is probably mostly out of the picture anyway at that point.

Coaster thanks so much for the reply. Our problem is we have the attorney from hell and don't want him doing anything at all to our case ever again if possible. I've sent a lot of emails out and made a lot of posts so hopefully someone who has gotten an RFE with an attorney can answer this for us.

I would just like to ask that everyone not flood the boards with envy when someone gets approved. I know this is very difficult seeing approvals while waiting, but please remember the golden rule. now having said that we have had 2 June filers get approved this morning almost back to back and that gives us all hope Congratulations to Coaster and PSLove...enjoy it guys you give us all hope!

Oh my god...... I can't believe my eyes........... We got approved............on 23rd Oct. I just checked on the USCIS website, and found that we are approved.......... 5 months of waiting, and finally it comes.

I am so so so happy. It's the best gift, really.

Hi mbbs, thanks! When i first read your comment I had no idea what you were talking about haha, but looking at the I-129F again, it seems as though you were referring to question 19. I had checked no, and never gave it a second thought. But now I could see how that might be a fuzzy issue. We didn't have any RFE's or problems with checking no and explaining about eharmony in the "how we met" section, so it looks like it is fine. I did a quick google search and it says IMBRA exempts large corporate dating sites such as eharmony.com, match.com, etc. Hope that helps!

Question: on the status page, will they tell you you've been mailed an RFE or do you have to wait to find out? Our case has been touched twice in recent days, but now I wonder if it could just be an RFE.

Hey Steve - Unfortunately it doesn't tell you on the cases status site what the RFE is for, only the date it was mailed out ect. Our biggest worry now is that we won't receive it because of the "choice of address/agent" form that attorneys make you sign http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/80023.pdf

I haven't been able to find out for sure through research whether or not we will receive it. We do not want our attorney doing ANYTHING to our case ever ever again if we can keep from it, but for now we may be stuck with him handling this RFE because we haven't released him as of yet. It was mailed out Thursday so we are hoping that we receive it on Monday and can mail it in ourselves and bypass the attorney, but like i say I'm not sure yet if this is possible because of the release we signed. i might just have to kiss his @@@ long enough to get this one step done and hope for the best then release him after this is over.

We are really worried because of all of problems he has caused thus far. I wish we could hear from someone who was issued an RFE that had retained an attorney to see if they received a copy and was able to mail it in themselves, but so far i haven't been able to find such a person here on VJ. For now we are a nervous wreck. Hope you and Radz don't have this problem.

Hey Symbiosis - Here is what the message looks like. I sure hope this Isn't an RFE for you. Just keep in mind that usually when you are touched this late in the game it is the adjudicator processing your case for either an approval, RFE, (or denial but we won't go there!).
Can you tell me if you used an attorney?

At least now you are not in an information black hole. You know an RFE is coming. You know he is going to get it(and maybe you too). That knowledge will help you ramrod him to tell you what it is about, what needs to be done, and how it gets sent back.

Try to get them to send that back with a tracking number so you can at least have the assurance that it gets back to CIS.

Take as much comfort as you can from knowing that as soon as the adjudicator receives that, they'll be working your case again and approval should be very quick.

If you have an useless attornet, i dont blame you. We had an attorney and she didnt do much, well she didnt do anyhting!!!. She gave us the forms we needed to fill out (I knew them already since I checked them here). If they send you an RFE, your attorney will receive one and you will receive another copy. If you receive the NOA2, your attorney and you will receive one copy. So you can do your things from now on. Just read the steps to follow and good luck!!!!!! it's better to do your things yourselves!!!!

Radz is doing great now the doctor gave her some medicines and within a day she was doing much better. Good luck you getting your rfe returned, as soon as you find out what was wrong you can send it back and they will get right back on your case.
