has anybody here had a senator contact the consulate about spouses AP (or anything else after interview) and what information if any were they able to get for you? did it help to move things faster? were there any negatives that came from it?

The senator may be able to get you a little more information than DOS will give you, but they cannot speed up the process.

For mine, the Senator was actually able to find out the reason for the AP (we weren't under security checks)
They weren't able to speed it up, but helped to clear up unclear information. There were no negatives to Senator contact in my case (except one Senator could not get an answer and kept me waiting three months pretending he could.)

I just wrote to my senator, if something happens I will of coarse let you know. From what I heard, yes it is what emt said, that they can give more information than DOS.
I hope we all get these needed clearances!

the uncertainty in a killer to sanity. the waiting we have endured seemed bad before but we at least knew there was a reason and a way of checking once we hit NVC. this is very unsettling, had to go to the doctor for sleep help...sleep deprivation can lead to insanity as well. I do feel a bit better today after a good nights sleep, just a long week end ahead (how crazy does that sound...most working people would like a long week end, now it non government working days when we know we wont hear anything

.
I really appreciate all the support and input from you all. I know my wait thus far is short in comparison to yours but to know I am not alone is helpful...keeps the paranoia at bay
