First post so here goes.

I just recieved my packet 3 today!

I'm hoping to have it turned round by tomorrow (I have police record etc.)

Looking on the London Embassy site they have the DS 156 available online.

It says that the online version should be used as the paper version can slow down the application process.


As this is not mentioned in packet 3 should I just ignore it and send the originals or should I do the online version and hope it helps speed up the process?

They prefer the electronic version as it speeds up the processing

I used the electronic version, all it does is after you fill it out & click send or whatever it puts a barcode on & then you print it out .i would think it does save time as the form wont have to be manualy put into the system, the barcode will just be scanned in!!

I had the exact same question yesterday! From what I've read on the Naples consulate website, filling out the electronic DS 156 speeds things up (we have yet to see evidence of that lol but anyways...) so I filled that one out. To be on the safe aise, you can also fill out the one they sent you with your Packet 3 and bring both versions with you to the interview.
