Call me slow, but I need some clarification (again). innocent.gif

Ok...here is how I understood it.

My husband is to be my sponsor and even he has no sufficient income, he has to file I-864.
His step dad is going to be our joint sponsor, and when we get to the USA, we are going to live in the same household with husband's mom and step dad.

The 1,000.000 $ question is:
What does his step dad have to file:
a. I-864
b. I-864A
c. both
d. something else

I will take every answer as correct, because I do not have a clue. I read and read the instructions and... blink.gif

Okay. Your husband is not a member of his step-father's household right now, correct? I assume so because you're posting in the DCF forum. In that case, the appropriate form is the I-864. Your husband is the principal sponsor. His step-father is a joint sponsor.

Husband files I-864 as primary sponsor.
Step dad files I-864 as Joint sponsor.
Step dad can use step mom as a member of his household and she can use I-864A

Joint sponsor uses I-864 as well as the primary sponsor uses I-864.

Please fill in profile details with Filed For: You are filing for something NOT N/A http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01 This helps us answer questions.

Also do a timeline, this too gives us a picture of your situation.

Thank you very much. That is exactly what I wanted to know.

I will certainly provide more details. Just have this weird superstition that as soon as I write "approved" somewhere, a big obstacle would appear. Funny, isn't it? We have only started, and I am already half insane. And without this site, I would be probably fully insane. smile.gif
