Well...
Nick and I decided against a house for the time being and have reluctantly but still excitedly rented an apartment.

Nick had already mailed me all of the paperwork (I-134) etc. before we were approved for the apartment and it has his old address on it. The apartment is ours now and Nick is moving in next week but I wanted to know when I should let the government know?

Should I let them know when I go for my interview on the 20th?

It's not a HUGE deal cause his old address is his parents house so we will have access to the mail but I'd still like it to be current.

What do you guys think?

AFAIK, until such time the USC submits an I-864, he/she is not under an obligation to keep the USICS informed of there whereabouts. For the alien, it is important after entry....

So when I file for AOS I just put our apartment address?

When u go for the interview , you can easily enough pass on ur new address as well, they just pen it in!!

Congratulations on your new home! You may not own it, but it is still your first home together. Now you will have some place to call your own and if you want to buy, you can take the time to find a house you really love first.

I'm excited cause we are allowed to paint in there, as long as we paint it back to white when we leave.

Yeah we were happy too about painting.....but then changed our mind so it's gonna stay white until we move out


On another note. We had his house address when I moved here, but we knew already our future address that we moved into. So I did my address change after I moved here. Just an important note, we filed the Alien address change and the Sponsor change of address BEFORE we filed for my AOS and EAD, and sent the receipt notice along with my AOS forms Don't remember the exact numbers for the forms though. And they send a receipt notice only for the Sponsor one.

ar-11 and I-865.... you can file the AR-11 online nowadays but the 1-865 you still have to mail in...
