LOTO did u call NVC? and ask about no letter yet? if so what did they say to you..
maybe they can resend it to u?

Hyd, I called and talked to NVC operator couple of times. All the time they told me they have mailed it to both of us on 05/28/2008.

Probably, Fathima will get it today or tomorrow in India. Avon Solutions is the courier service in Chennai to deliver the NVC mails to the beneficiary. They called and informed us we have one more letter from NVC. They haven't opened it yet, so they don't know if it is IV interview appointment letter or not. This will be delivered today or tomorrow at the Indian address.

Neetu hasn't gotten her copy of the letter yet either, as I've mentioned - I'm wondering if the scanned copy I sent her will suffice for the VFS office and for the interview itself (it is working for the medical portion) ... If she needs her "own" letter, I gotta figure out how long to wait before harassing the NVC lol

I think the "send date" was 6/10 for both of our letters ...

NVC's Indian courier service also does not have our IV appointment letter.

So we decided NOT to have ORIGINAL appointment letter.

Whatever VFS provided will be good enough at this last minute

Documents needed for those who does not have original appointment letter
1) Consulate interview confirmation email
2) Consulate's Monthly Appointment list
3) VFS receipt for the interview documents

Ok, this is really crazy!!!! Neither Betty or I have received a thing from NVC. I get the same info, that they mailed it out on 6/10, but I kow that is only when it was generated, and not mailed. We have her medical exam scheduled for next Thursday, June 26th, and it is "required". I am going to calll tonight and try to push through to a supervisor. Let you know what I find out.

Arequipa4us, do you have any courier facility in your country who co-ordinates document checklist and passport delivery after interview ? Probably, it may be different in your country.

My wife called the Doctor and they agreed with whatever docs. she has now.

BAD NEWS!

Neetu told me this morning that she got a letter from the US Consulate in Delhi stating that her interview, originally scheduled for July 9th, had been postponed to July 16th ... No reason is specified as per what she told me ... It just said that she is not to show up on the 9th and has to go on the 16th now ...

ONE MORE WEEK ADDED TO WHEN I CAN SEE MY JAAN!

She's gonna call the embassy on Monday and see if this is all updated in their system (i.e., the new date) and whether there's a reason ... as to whether we can do anything about it, I doubt it ...

I called the NVC but they had the 9th on their info ... I think this is a unilateral change by the US Consulate in Delhi after the date was previously given....

Well I talked to NVC last night AGAIN!!!! Now they say that the letter was "sent out" the week of June 11th." I was not too happy to hear the story changing. I really don't care what the story is as long as it is the truth. My own personality at play there. Today, the letter showed up in my mailbox, and it was postmarked on June 16th!!!! I am happy that I finally have it, but the lies I could've done without.

Anyway I also sent an e-mail to the embassy in Lima this morning about this situation, and they almost immediately responded, saying that if we didn't receive it, we could stop by the consulate any day at window #14, between 9-10am and get a copy. They sent the same e-mail response to my wife as well. I scanned the letter (Package III & IV Combined), and e-mailed it to my wife. So she is sure to have all the documents she needs.

As far as courriers go, the only one I believe we have to use is DHL for the return of her passport & visa. The medical physician told my wife that she must come back 3 days later to pick-up her results letter (no courrier service was mentioned). I think we are all set up for everything, I am just hoping that the embassy follows it's routine and has her passport out within 48 hours, so I don't have to re-book her flight.
