As a K-3 your greencard is not dependant on the "age" of your marriage when you enter the USA, but the age of the marriage after your I-485 application is approved. Since a K-3 is a 2 yr. visa you have some flexibility when you will make this application and it does not mean you have to remain outside the country until such time... you can wait on this application from inside the USA and while living with your spouse.

You have K-3, it is a 2 year multi entry visa, so you can leave and re-enter the USA using that visa until you have green-card.

You can enter the USA any time you want it is not a requirement to do so after 2nd wedding anniversary.

To get 10 year card, you file for adjustment of status very close to your wedding anniversary, and when AOS is approved AFTER wedding anniversary, you then get 10 year card.

OR if you opt to keep CR-1 visa track going, and interview for CR-1 visa, the thing to do is enter the USA after 2nd wedding anniversary to get 10 year green-card.

Wouldn't it be an IR-1 after 2 years, not a CR-1?

Only if visa interview takes place after 2nd wedding anniversary not before, however if do get CR-1 and are able to wait until after 2nd anniversary to enter the USA the result is the same, a 10 year card.

A K3 visa doesn't become a CR1 visa at any point.

The OP says she has a visa. I'm presuming from the forum in which the question is posted and the title of the thread that the visa is a K3. If a K3 visa, simply get to the USA and delay filing the I-485 as the Mermaid suggested.

If it's a CR1 visa in the passport now, it's up to the couple whether being together now or a 10 year card 9 months from now is their priority. Not an issue with a K3 visa. Might as well be together now.
