Kelly it's going to be hard for a few days but you *will* get through this. Where is he staying while you're at work? I brought in tons of pictures and I made sure I called about 3 times a day, once in the morning, once at noon and once in the afternoon to see how she was doing. Daycares expect this from new moms so don't feel shy about it.

Congratulations on all the wonderful news (visas, US arrivals, babies, relationships etc)!

I wish Jeanne would arrive at the scene with our coffee. I need more fuel cos I really want to get outside and trim back some of the bushes in the back yard and do some tree trimming, if possible. The neighbour behind me has this huge ghetto tree that smells and sheds these stinky little seeds and wouldn't you know it, HIS tree is growing all on my side. The city won't do spit about it, the neighbour is a d**kweed and he could care less. 21 years I have dealt with this crap. Sigh.

Me, I am going to spruce up my resume today And I feel good about it. It is time for me to make money for a different store owner. The only bad part, I won't be able to take a trip to Jordan in Ocotober if I quit where I am working now. That sucks but everything happens for a reason. Where I work now, I went from being their #1 to being called into the office every dang day for small issues. I can take the reprimands, I can take losing privaleges, I can take being sentenced to work every Sat/Sun for eternity, but now they have made a new rule that they can take hundreds a month away on a whim, without notice, and that ,,,,is unexceptable. (their fav new word for me--- 'unexceptable--they called me that at least 4 times last week :| )

Jackie, is it possible to move your trip earlier to Jordan and go before starting a new job? Take a 2 or 3 week break b/t jobs and go, then you won't need to ask for time off so soon after starting. Otherwise, tell them in the interview you have a trip planned and tickets booked on these dates and you'll need time off then. Good luck!

Good idea about mentioning it up front. Don't want to go earlier, wanted to go after Ramadan. If I don't see Jordan again, things happen for a reason. I might just decide to wait for him here and save money. Now that I have made the decision to make a change, I feel sooo much better.

My boss must be really stressed himself to be taking chit out on me like this. This 'new rule' of his to take away future commissions and using OLD issues to do it, is just underhanded and shady. I could have a huge month, be owed $4000 and he could decide to reach into his wayback machine and take it away. That just isn't right. I'm not leaving over my performance, I am the hightest writer at least 9 months out of the year. I am leaving while on top.


OMG my daughter just called. One of Lexy's parakeets got out (Blue, his partner is Green) ,,and Bella the cocker spaniel found it and poor Blue lost that battle. Lexy is hysterical and wanting Grammy to come to his funeral. I gotta go bury a bird.

thanks for all the words of encouragement everyone...and fortunately. zaid isnt going to day care, infact he isnt going anywhere, he is staying home with dad who is currently unemployed, which does make it easier, sofyan is wonderful with him, and i trust him 110% to take care of zaids needs, but, im still his mom, and i feel at this age, he needs his mom...well thats life...i will have to get over it real quick....

Surely missed your pics and insight. Hey thiking of you too the other day....I know its has been out for a while (maybe 2004 or 2005?), but did you ever see Control Room- the documentary about the Al jazera and US Media coverage of the war in Iraq? I just bought it sight unseen and was impressed. Raises some very interesting questions and will definately use it at work.

Also anyone interested in Iraq should see My Country My Country (which is also more than a year old and yes I am catching up on many things!).

Yes indeed I've seen "Control Room" -- it's an excellent film but have not seen "My Country My Country" yet.

Just got home from Blue's backyard burial. We've never seen sadness like this on Lexy's face. I brought her home with me and she is snuggling with Princessa, telling her all about it. She just told the cat that Blue is in heaven with God.

We are going now to the kitchen and make pancakes (her fav food these days) and then plant stuff in the garden that we started from seeds.
I am in charge of keeping her mind off her traumatic morning. Ya'll have a good day.

Kel, my daughter and her husband, have tag-teamed with Lexy for a few years now. Jesse works days and when he comes home, tag he's it and then she goes to work. Nothing wrong with mommy/daddy time separate. The bond they will form is priceless and you will soon realize that being with big people is a blessing you will look forward to. I hope your day was good. You will be home soon to your boys. I bet they are missing you already and will appreciate you alot when you walk thru the door

I need more pics of the twins!!!!!! What are they going to be doing while you're at work? I feel for you, I had two babies in daycare at the same time and oh my gosh that was EXPENSIVE!! I think when they were both in the "baby room" I paid approx $400/week. Luckily the oldest moved out at 15 mos into the young toddler room and after that the price dropped but still stayed around $350/week for a good couple of years.

once you hit yourself with it, you'll be way more careful.

I just went to the manager's office to pick up a USPS delivery from Macy's. It's not there and the Post Office has no clue where it is and Macy's says they can;t do anything for a week since it delivery can take up to 7 days. So I am left hold a delivery notification but no Thierry Mugler Angel.

But a Reuben with no sauerkraut????? that really sucks! double indeed!
