When do people usually take the physical?? Madras is a long way from Hyderabad and Kerala.. Do you have to take the physical 7 days (1 week) in advance?? Do people actually say in madras for 7 days prior?? Do you have to make an appointment for the physical??

Can somebody please tell me when they are planning to visit the doctor for their physical? I don’t want to come their 7 days in advance if I don’t have to…. I read somewhere on VJ that you have to take the physical 7 days in advance is that true??

ya i think my husband wil go 2 weeks prior to interivew.. stay there for like 3 days andthen come back to hyderabad.. then we both wil go 2 days prior to our interview..

You can go anytime for the medical, even two days before the interview if you want. However people do it earlier just to be safe, because if somehow the medical results are delayed, the visa will not be granted till the medical results are given. My husband took the train from Hyderabad to Chennai and got the medical done on March 22, he just stayed one night in Chennai. Then he returned to Hyd and then again took the train to Chennai for the interview on April 13. So he had the medical done three weeks before the interview. That way we could include the medical results when we gave other paperwork to the VFS office before the interview.

Ideal would be to get an appointment assoon as you get your interview letter. That way if there is anything that needs to be taken care of, it can be done before its late...

You can go for your medical anytime after you have received your appointment letter but before you submit your packet 4 . It is advisable to go earlier than later so you have your report in hand when you go to submit your packet 4.

VfS fees can be paid no later then 3 days prior to interview...my husband paid them at 4 days.
He arrived in Chennai went from train station to lab before 1030 am and was able to return at 4 to pick up results, between 1030 and 4 he went to VFS and paid fees, after 4 went to Dr. Rajkumar and physical was completed. All this was done in one days time

I am not aware of 7 days prior to the interview for medical. I have heard from lot of VJ member in Chennai that they got it done a day prior or two before the interview. I am also planning to do just one trip to chennai and will try to schedule the medical two days prior to the interview, having one day in between if things get delayed with medical. Since these people are designated labs/doctors from the embassy, they would value time and I don't think a delay can be more than few hours in this case. I am still evaluating one day prior to the interview as well

Hi there, may i suggest you do your Physical 7 days before your interview. i actualy had mine 2 weeks, coz i was thinking if i would be having any problem or if i need to cure something then i wont have a problem with the time limit it will give me time to have the medial proceedings, right? at least i was at peace for 2 weeks. and im all healthy.. hehehe
