happy Tuesday! my last day of my 2 day vacation. I still have work to get done and I don't wanna leave the house. Gotta return some stuff to Office Depot that didn't work in the office. FINALLY got groceries coz we didn't have time yesterday. AND finally gave in and decided to try a swiffer.... Let me just say WOW!! I dunno how it doesn't streak the floor when the dirt gets piled in the pad..but it works beautifully! I'm absolutely amazed at how well it cleaned and shined my floors! It was almost effortless too...I wish I would have just tried one sooner and saved myself all the hassle I've been thru..
up in the 100's today and HUMID as heck. I hate the summer...I hate opening my door and feeling like I just walked into an oven.
I added a new pic of my old pharmacy to my siggy. I miss it soooooooooooo much. Both the awnings belong to the pharmacy. I WANNA GO HOME

Sigh...my husband is Muhammad too...at a young age the schools changes every boy's proper name to Muhammad in bangladesh. They now don't do it anymore. Imagine the backlogs for name checks if this went on!
(May peace be upon the prophet, of coarse).
Insha-Allah everyone will have a great week , I shall get to some major work waiting.

I just called uhaul to make an appt to have the hitch installed on my van that I need to be able to pull my car to Houston. When I made the reservation they said the tow dolly would be $174 for 6 days and the hitch would be $160 installed so I was like "cool!" but now when I called to make the appt the man at the local uhaul store said it would be over $300 to have the hitch installed! I told him that's not what they told me when I made the reservation!!! He just said they don't know what all parts he has to put on the make the lights and stuff work
So I told him to cancel it for now bcoz I don't know what we're going to do

my hubby's got his bus ticket to leave Houston on Monday and we're supposed to get everything moved into storage and be on our way to Houston by the next week

Ouch...thats a lot of $$ I feel even more broke just thinking about it. My move cost $450 for movers yuck. I really hope you get things worked out

I just talked to my hubby and we agreed that we don't need to take the car right now. We can just take what little we can fit in the van and leave the car at my moms house until we come back to get our stuff out of storage and use the uhaul to pull the car down there then. That will save us $300 to buy and have a hitch installed on our van that we don't need more than once, plus wear and tear on our van to pull the car and we won't have to have the money to rent the tow dolly before we can leave! So we'll just need gas money, food money and hotel money to go

Speaking of rings..that reminded me of something that happened to my mama years back. She was outside working in the garden one day and she had to take off her gardening gloves for some reason. She noticed her stone was gone so she shook the gloves ..heard the stone drop...spent 4 hours searching on hands and knees and never did find it. So she gave up and wore a replacement ring until she could get a new stone for her actual wedding ring.
5 years later we had a MASSIVE flood. I'm talkin massive as in me and my sisters were outside swimming in our yard coz it was past our hips high. Once the water finally drained, we all went outside to clean off the sidewalks/porch and what do we find???? Mamas diamond to her wedding ring. She took the diamond to the jewler and he said that the diamond was real and the setting in the stone matched it perfectly so it had to be the original stone that was in the ring!! Can u believe that!! 5 years later the stone shows up

I quit wearing mine a long while ago. It kept getting lost or I found myself prying it out of the shower sink whole...too much of a hassle. It sits in a box now and though it causes me probs with ppl not believing im married, it better than having a heart attack every time it gets lost
im just absentminded, i cannot keep a ring - and this AP has gotten me a bit crazy, i cant remember simple things anymore either...so Olivia, its maybe better if you dont take the ring to the gym even after u get it fixed at the jewelers if u opt to get it fixed that way. Better when hubby comes you wear it, I am so sane and organized around him...makes me wonder what I have become

.

...
Hope u get it fixed.

I feel like an alien 'cause I HATE my swiffer enough to have gone and bought an old fashioned mop and now I do it that way with nice hot water and mr. clean. When I used the swiffer on my kitchen floor, which is linoleum (sp?) it would leave a disgusting sticky residue and my feet would make a sound when I walked on the floor with barefeet. Now it's nice and dry and sparkling.
I do, however, love it for the hardwood floors.
I need coffee if I'm going to make it to 7pm tonight.

Hubby was up ALL night long reading in bed and I couldn't sleep. I think it was because the light was on but he swears I cork off every single night while he's reading with the light on and it never bothers me so I dunno.

Congrats Aj1! Hello, everyone. Well, Dh has decided to not just invite one brother but in fact 2 brothers and a sister. You know how you're an only child and realized a couple years ago that you think of everyone as an only child and then accidentally fall in love with someone who is youngest of 11 and have this sinking feeling you are never going to be alone again? ummm.... yeah.
Today he asked me what we are going to do with the cats when they visit. I said nothing, they live here. he said he wasn't sure his family woud like that. I think it's completely unreasonable to expect to move the cats out. He just thinks I can give them to a friend for a week or two. WTH? Who will just take 3 cats for a week or2??

Bridget, get one of those eye masks (a dark one, the light colored satin ones are useless) and invest in earplugs. thats what i do to deal with my husbands tv before bed habit.

WTH? Who will just take 3 cats for a week or2??
honey i feel for you. i dont have cats (yuk!) but my husband is one of 8 and i have had at least yearly visitors since we have been together. and g-d forbid they stay for less than a month since they are payin for the plane ticket and all... no way should you make your cats move out tho.

Amal that story about the diamond is awesome! I always dream of finding buried treasure like that!
Tammy, I'll get the ring fixed at a jewler it will just be some time till I get the money for it. In the meantime I'm going to look at titanium bands with tension.
Hi Jackie!
Hey Bridget maybe I love my swiffer cuz I have hardwood floors!
Alhamdulillah I want to go see that movie but I'll wait till it's at the dollar theater.
Lucky Nagi got mentioned twice by Amal but I got mentioned first! Nah nah!
Hi Julianna-about the cats MENA is funny about that because they don't keep cats and dogs like we do here. Interesting experience you're bringing up though. Gives me food for thought.
Hi chaishai!

I spent about a half an hour last week trying to figure out how to open the battery compartment in my Swiffer because the sprayer wouldn't work, so I figured the batteries needed replacing. I just couldn't figure it out. In fact, I couldn't even see where the batteries could possibly be in the stupid thing. I finally gave up and was putting the thing back in the closet when I noticed the battery compartment on the closet floor. No wonder it wasn't working!

Hey all, I hope you are doing well. My grandmother passed away last night so I have been a little torn today. We will miss her deeply but are so blessed that we had her in our lives as long as we did and that God took her before she suffered any more than she did. Take care everybody!
