My wife has gotten her Green Card- and only 2 weeks after our interview at the Santa Ana California office! But there are no notations in her (Thai) passport. She just has a Green Card. We'd like to go visit Thailand next month. Is this okay? Does she need to have anything more than her passport and Green Card? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

If passport is in her maiden name she needs to take the marriage certificate also.

Haole is correct. She can travel, but if the name on the Green Card and on her passport do not match, she could have problems not only re-entering the country, but getting on the plane to leave the country.

If she did change her name in the marriage process, I would suggest going to the Thai Consulate closest to where you live. In most consulates, she can get a new passport in her married name so that all of her documentation matches.

call me ignorant, but does the green card mean you have a social security number? The only thing I've ever heard is that you better not leave the country until you have your social security card. There was a married couple on the plane with my husband (he was British and she was American) I guess they went to visit family in Britain before he obtained his social security card, and they would not let him back into America.
