I am posting this for a freind .. He has been here since 1985 and he wants to find out waht he needs to do to become a permanant resident or citizen what should he do ??

I assume he is illegal. He needs to talk to an attorney and see what his options are. If he marries a US citizen then he will need to get a waiver for his illegal status - again better to talk to an attorney. Good Luck

I am new to these forums, ha, somehow managed to get by without looking at case status or even chatting about it. But doesn't VisaPro have good attorneys? They were kind enough to provide this forum, free for us to use.

Unless the person is currently a LEGAL permanent resident then the possibility of citizenship (at this point) is out of the question....

VisaPro was kind enough to provide the VJ forums? Are you sure?

Not sure, was just asking, somebody is paying for it.

Well it was certainly not asked in the form of a question... and AFAIK, VP has no interest in VJ.

Somehow got the strange idea that VisaPro was the same as VisaJourney, but did some back tracking and definitely two different organizations, probably from zipping through the net with way too many sites on this subject.

Stand corrected, and sorry for the error.
