hello ,

I've been in the States for 1 month and 2 days, so far so good!! Life is good with me and my fiancee, and we are getting married this month...So far, never feel homesick, but I started craving filipino foods already heheheh!!! My fiancee and I went to the Buford Hi-way -International market. I'm glad that I found filipino foods there...As in super miss ko na ang fish...Nakakasawa na ang meat at chicken, at grilled. Gusto ko ng sabaw at rice...

I learned and experience a lots of stuff here like TIME IS SUPER GOLD..U can't be late, if u do, text or call the person that ur going to be late so he/she wont pissed off or gone to the meeting place the moment when u get there...

All drinks in restaurants/fastfood chains is unlimited, drink til u drop hehehhehe....

They loved pictures and pets..Pictures everywhere in the house, pictures in the walls, in the fridge, everywhere...

Pets are treated so well. They have their own food ( pets never feed a left over food) not like in the PHIL hehehhe.Pets are lucky here and home owner owns more than 1 pet...( my fiancee own 1 black cat) i hated hehehehhe..

WALMART is very popular store here..Anything u want is there!! Department store here is not like in the PHIL, department store the most thing u can find there is different clothes store/beauty products store & foodcourt. You can't find Moive theathre in department store, it's separated buidling...

You can find a lot of cheapest stuff here in US- ( dont convert to pesos) so u wont get hurt hehehhe..$5 dollar blouse conver to peso is P200- but very good quality here-walang buhol buhol ang damit mo.. Not like in PHIL, mura nga ang daming buhol buhol nman..

If the store is on SALE, sale talga!! You will surprised the regular price to marked down to promo sale- For example, my lotion that I used is bath n body works or victoria secret lotion , the price range in PHIL is 600php and here is $9 but when I bought on sale is $3, see the 6 dollar different....

If u go to supermarket to buy chicken or meat, lahat white meat, no fats, no bones... Frozen food lahat, wala sila nung fresh thing heheh.Lahat nakabalot..Americans never eat fats or bones and very picky when in terms of food like my fiancee hehehhehe

On TV add, most adverstiment here are about insurance, schools, lawyers to assist any of ur problems, and dating websites. All houses have direct tv or cable. There are so many reality tv shows here ( which I really love to watch)...

Roads are wide and spacious. Kids think so matured here and spoiled...They really have a good life and lifestyle because they really work so hard. Many jobs opportunities here in the States but so many bills to pay too.. Cars here is not luxury, its necessity of life. People here works so hard of what they got and deserve it....

Americans personality are sweet , good and nice. They are lovable too. They really express of what they think and feel not like PHIL even mad we try to keep it hehehhe..

I met a lots of friends of my mahal and some of his customers too ( he is self-employed , a marine service business) everybody have the same questions? How do u like the STATES?? Are u culture shocked ? Is it really different? WHat can u say about US?

Well my answer YES I love the states for everything, for what i have seen and experience. I wish that our Phil government have the same government like they do...We, Filipinos are very talented and smart but very limited opportunity in our own country...

WHEN I WAS IN PHIL , my mahal asked me if i am proud to be Filipono?? And I said NO , because of our government.. We are proud that Filipinos all over the world but most are domestic helpers, some are treated so bad with employers and there are so many employers taking advantage and paying a small low income salary...Then our family/relatives/friends think that we are rich if we have foreign bf/fiancee or husband. Not knowing how hard also living a simple life in the US.. When I was younger, I heard about a lot of US and it's a FILIPINO ULTIMATE DREAM> I remembered when u have friends/ neighborhood who had family in the STATES IT MEANS SOCIAL AND THEY ARE RICH, right, but the real life is not...

Some Filipino changed when they got back to he/his country, they think that they are superior, others stay the same, and other change but for the better..

1 peso now in PHIL is nothing, but $1 is still good , u can buy a M&M chocolates, an imported chocolate in PHIL..What can u buy in 1 peso now, one bubot of candies???? Corruption is everywhere. But our country is so worst, and we Filipinos don't deserve like this, thats what I am hoping and praying for my country , a more improve and developed economy for the community and citizens.....

I AM PROUD OF BEING PINOY IN OTHER ASPECTS like Family bonding and even I am a US Citizen soon, my love to my country will stay the same and of course I am proud to become a US CITIZEN soon and God bless America!! God bless Philippines!!!

What about u guys/gals?? Are u still proud of being Pinoy now that u are a US Citizen??? WHAT MAKES U PROUD OF BEING PINOY??

Hindi Pinoy ako, pero I'm proud to marry a Pinay and be a part of her family. My stepmother is her auntie, so I'm very familiar with the culture. Hehe, I'm only a beginner in Tagalog wink.gif

I am proud of my self as filipina even though I am here for almost a year now BUT one thing for sure I never change. I will always be the same the woman my husband love until the end. I will make sure that we will raise our little angel as Filipino in many ways. I am filipina in heart and mind even someday I will be a US citizen or not it doesn’t matter I will still the same. It will not change me as who I am. I am a filipina in heart and soul FOREVER!!!

As what I always saying to my husband every time we were in store, I CAN BUY THAT STUFF IN THE PHILIPPINES REALLY CHEAP. It might be because I am filipina. If people asking me how I like living here all I can say is It’s OKAY might be YES or NO. I have my own family here now, But I am still looking for the time that I will be back where really I belong, the place that I grew up, people who surrounded me and I deal with, the food that I used to eat with family and friends, the fiesta and simbang gabi, Christmas will never be the same like how we are celebrating it there and I honestly want my own child experience that, we are as filipina admit or not we are living our life as like simple life in many ways, well we are simple in heart. I am proud to be PINAY!!! And again green card or Us citizen is only a piece of paper, it will never change the fact that I AM FILIPINA.

I second the motion...

I admire the talents of Lea Salonga, Patricia Evangelista ( the girl who won the Speech contest), Charice Pempengco( guesting in Ellen de Generes and Oprah show) she got super stuninng standing ovation; Manny Pacquiao who gained a lot of respect from International press and Sports Personality because of his humility eventhough he is a famous boxer.

I admire the Filipino values particularly the way we raise our family, children should have a lot of respect to their elders. The Hospitality that everybody talked about it..

I guess in our own little way we can do something to make our country be a better place.

yes, i am proud to be PINOY. at kahit nsa ibang bansa na ako di ko parin kalimutan ang pagiging pinoy. ksi jan ako nanggaling. my parents, grandparents, etc ay pinoy. ung iba kc pagnakapunta na sa ibang bansa ikinahihiya na ang pagigigng pinoy. so sad, or let say hindi sila proud. pero kahit papano babalik din sila dito. but un ang opinion nila. wla akong against don. Marami pa rin mga bagay ng dapat tayo maging proud as a FILIPINO.
