After waiting...and expecting an interview...I emailed the embassy last week to check...received a response today that says all documents have been received except the document checklist! Ridiculous! Barry returned all documents including the checklist in the same envelope! I returned the email explaining they have it already, and he will resend it tomorrow. He is also going to try to call them tomorrow as well. Anyone else have this same problem...any suggestions on a quick resolution? We were hoping for his interview when I'm there...I leave Wednesday and will be there for 2 weeks...

Other people have mentioned on here that something similar has happened to them, but I don't recall the exact details I'm afraid. Is your fiance aware that he can't actually call the Embassy? He can only call the 'helpline' which is based in Scotland so they won't be able to see if they physically have the document or not and usually aren't all that helpful.
I can't offer much help I'm afraid, sorry.

did you keep a copy of it? can you resend that? I really think that for stuff like forms and the checklist etc. if they mess up they should let you fax it to them.

Barry did copy everything and he is resending the checklist tomorrow. I've also returned an email informing them that it was in the original packet 3 and he is sending a copy to them. I haven't a clue what they are up to! How can they repeatedly misplace the same form again and again?
Has anyone actually contacted a person that is physically at the embassy, other than the helpline people?

I think that the helpline is handled by people in scotland, but emails are answered by the people in the embassy. I believe Lansbury has not only talked to people in the embassy, but also worked amongst them

We faxed our checklist. That seemed to do the trick.

The embassy lost the entire packet 3 for us, but Nicky had copies of everything and just sent copies of the copies in a second time. The funny part was when he went in for his interview, they told him they had just found the original packet!

I really have no idea what goes on there...though from my experience working for the USCIS they may do extensive background checks but that doesn't mean they do not have idiots working in the file rooms

I just received a response to my second email to the embassy, and they've found the "missing" checklist and scheduled Barry's interview for July 1st!...and he just resent the checklist today too...lol....
Thanks for all your suggestions...you're all great!

I'm glad you got your date finally! It's kind of scary how much stuff seems to get 'mislaid' in these situations. I mailed mine back all in the same envelope as well and sent it by special delivery a week later than you guys so I'll give it another week and then get in touch just to check they haven't done the same with mine. I don't want an interview before the beginning of July (the medical this month is using up all my funds) so it's not too much of a worry for now.
I'll be thinking of you guys on the 1st!

Yes it is amazing how many files get "misplaced." When I worked at the Nebraska Service Center there was a guy who talked to files...maybe the Embassy has someone stashing them in odd places?
