Hi everyone. Been gone for a while but finally have begun the active part of my journey. Sent off the I-130 to USCIS this morning and it should be there by 10am tomorrow morning.

After that it's wait and see...

Anybody else just starting out? smile.gif
Amy and Adrian
Yep- just starting too. Got my NOA1 on 6/4/08 for my husband and two step-children.
Jamericanlove
Hi Amy!

Our I-130 just got delivered to the USCIS Lockbox via Fed Ex. Now to see how long they take to cash the check!

Nobody else filed in June?

June looks like a slow month......one third completed and just two of us.
candyland
not really a june filer, two days shy sent I-130 may 30th got my receipt # on june 5, i guess sometime this week you guys will here something. now waiting on the approval is the hard part but i wish all of us good luck!!!!!!
Jamericanlove
Hi candyland!

You got the NOA1 4 days after you sent the I-130? Wow that was fast! laughing.gif I hope we are that lucky.

I am hoping they will put through the check so I can see what number is written on the back of it.

Yes you are right, waiting is the hard part....let's hope it's a speedy process!

Jamericanlove
Hey all....

The numbers are growing! Quite a few of us now, and of course you can post here! The more the merrier...

Here's to a speedy process for us all kicking.gif

P.S. MadMax we filed on the same day and my check still isn't cashed yet crying.gif
gr8madmax
JL - did you have tracking on your package sent to the Chicago box? Do you know if they received it yet. I'm assuming it is just a slight delay with them receiving the package, especially if you did not use overnight or a express delivery method.

Question for you guys - I have the receipt number off of the scan of the check. It begins with WAC. Any idea how long it would take before I can track my case online on the USCIS website?
Jamericanlove
Hi Madmax....Yup. The package got delivered on Jun 10th I sent it overnight and got confirmation.

You should be able to check your status online right away. Just keep in mind that the number that will work for you to see your case online - the last digit will be one higher than what is on the back of the check.

So if your number is Blahblahblah0 on the back of the check then you'd put in blahblahblah1 to see it online.

Good Luck and I hope they cash my check by the end of the week!
gr8madmax
Thanks JL!

I received my NOA1 today so yours shouldn't be far behind.

Is there anything that I can do while waiting for NOA2 or is it just a waiting game?
Amy and Adrian
Just wanted to say hello to everyone. The waiting game is really awful..... on the otherhand, I guess I'm a little relieved to have some time to get some more money saved. My husband and I are running two households with 5 kids between us. All of the fees and trip to Montreal for their interview- not to mention travel expense when they can finally come to the States is going to be a real blow.... sad.gif Guess I'll be working alot of overtime....

How is everyone doing ?
just_Jackie
I am giddy with excitement waiting for the NOA 1 to come.

One the other hand, I am mourning the loss of my friend Dawn (dawnhatem)

I have started to gather the documents needed for the I-864. I requested and received the tax transcripts for last 3 years from the IRS.

Welcome all to the waiting game for NOA2. Just so you know don't expect anything atleast for the next 180 days if not more incase of VSC. Those people working in VSC are a waste of tax money, they don't do ####!!!
They are not interested to approve any I-130.
CSC may be little quicker.Good luck!!

Don't take this too seriously - the time line that I have shows NOA2 in 3 months (4 months max).

I agree, looking at the spreadsheet here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=118338 if you look at the last few months, things are really moving along. From what I also gather from this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=127253 if you do what it says, it could be sped through the nvc in 4 to 8 weeks. Its all up to the embassy in your benificary's country after that!
On a side note I feel bad that the latest filers are getting NOA2's faster then some people who filed a 6 more months or more. This whole process sucks but all we can do is deal with it the best that we can. Us little people cant change anything unless we all vote together in one voice in elections and make the changes happen!
ad345
That timeline is only on paper, none of the regular Jan'08 filers in this forum have got any approval. Those members who said it takes 3 months u guys keep dreaming(seems u are in a wonderland) no harm.
rmncm
I just go off of what is posted in the forum. Hey you could update your time line so they can use it for better tracking. And why yes, I live in Wonderland, how did you know?

I also see in the time line that CSC is working on March 1 2008 so thats what 4 months to get worked on. From what I see its getting faster and faster so who knows in 3 months maybe they will be working on it. Let us dream, dont burst our bubbles!

This is the right forum- thx Jamericanlove:)!.

My name isn't Alice- but I'm definitely living in Wonderland too. smile.gif Thoughts and dreams can and do become things... reality. If some of us didn't believe this- I doubt many would be here. I think John Lennon sums it up nicely.... "You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one.... "

Considering the situation we are in, there is nothing wrong with living in Wonderland.

Well I kind of hope not...maybe when our turn comes it will not take as long kicking.gif yes.gif biggrin.gif .
I've been living in wonderland for many years...hell I'm 38 and refuse to grow up!
Mommy
Hi Everyone

I am just wondering how long does it take for them to send the NOA, my husband sent out the package on 23 June and arrived there on 25 June. And still nothing come in and they don't cash the check yet either.

I saw most of you guys who filed this month got the NOA pretty quick so i am just worrying abit.

Jamericanlove
Hi Mommy,

My hubby got the NOA1 in the mail exactly 2 weeks after it was sent off. The USCIS got it from the 10th according to Fed Ex but they said they got it on the 16th and it took a week for the hardcopy to get to him...he's in iraq though so maybe normally it doesn't take that long.
Meliss3108
Hi All: I mailed on June 28... and I am holding my breath for them to cash the check! I am not very good at the "waiting game" so this could be a tough journey for me!
Jamericanlove
Welcome to the thread Mel! Don't worry...you'k get your NOA soon smile.gif
rmncm
Welcome all the new filers....crack open a beer, turn on the radio and enjoy the game. err well not much to enjoy about it but we have nothing to do but wait and get papers ready for the next step. Once again welcome all!
Meliss3108
whistling.gif BOOO!

I had to apply for a passport renewal for my work, so I sent that off on the 30th- they already cashed my check, why hasn't USCIS? I don'tthink I've ever wanted something to take my money so badly in my life!
Jamericanlove
LOL I know what you mean...I felt that way when I was waiting as well. smile.gif
Mommy
I just got a call from my husband said he got the hard copy of NOA1 already today. smile.gif

Hello all,

I just lodged on to this site and joined in mid June. I hope to find some hope here in this long and confusing process and time.

I was living and working in Japan got married on 03/27/06 and moved back to the US and got a good job as to support my wife, (also for the I-864 form A.O.S.) and filed my I-130 this month, they received it June 15th. You should be able to check my time line..

I hope the wait is not as long as some places I've read. I have read from other web places that it can take 2+ years to be with my wife again..

I have some photos of us posted and would like to see some of the June Filers too..

Good luck to us all in this process. Keep you chins up and a smile on your face.

David
