Happy Monday everybody! I am so exhausted this morning! We had dance practice and recital all weekend. The show went awesome but we didn't get home until midnight last night and batman husband kept me up until 2am and I had to be at work at 6.

Wicked hot here still. I sooooo wanted to stay home and snuggle the hubster all day.

It is the best Monday. Badr got his packet today and we finally have an interview date. So I'll be flying to Morocco on July 3 for his interview on the morning of July 7. I'm so excited. I can't wait. For the women that have supported me through this journey, thank you. I know this journey isn't over, it's only beginning, I just truly want to thank you all.

I'm at work super-early. The US Open is right down the street, so got paranoid about parking. Turns out there's plenty of parking at 6:30 in the morning. Wait and see what my co-worker says when they arrive at 8:30

Catching up a bit here on VJ from the weekend... seriously considering (ok, I've considered it the past 4 years.. but now since "no job", even better) going back into Grad School. So looks like I'm up to studying for the GRE. My honey doesn't want me to be a nurse because of odd hours *sighs* -- that's okay, I may be a good "nurse" at home, but don't really envision myself doing it professionally.

Major ideas anyone?

(P.S. I'm a BIG lover of different cultures,diversity (disability and human rights), traveling, arts, business... thought about "International Affairs" but I see most schools in California focus on the Pacific Rim areas... huh?? A little background: my BA is in Anthropology (emphasis: Socio-Cultural), but been in Accounting for more than 4 years -- thus more often than not, people think I have a degree in accounting )

Thank you! My first trip was in August of last year and it was pretty warm, so I ended up buying a floor fan for the house. Thankfully, it's still there. And I'll be in Kenitra, so there will be some days at the beach to cool off too.

going to my 6 week postpartum checkup today...i cant believe how time has flown...2 more days home, then i wont have another week off until christmas..

tasha, malek is getting to be such a big boy...its amazing how much he has changed..i still feel like zaid looks exactly like he did at birth...

its not too hot here in chicago, 80 or so, but man the severe thunderstorms and tornadoes just wont quit..they are calling for severe rain again today...

Good luck at the appointment Kelly!! Time does fly and before you know your little man will be doing all kinds of tricks. Malek is going through this scared of strangers thing and loud noises. He screams as if somebody has pinched him and gets so emotional. My husband was blowing bubbles at him yesterday and he got all worked up over that. I hope going back to work for you goes well. I know the feeling that you are going through.

Wicked hot here too!!! About 97 today,hot and humid! My husband said that he is taking back his words of thinking that Ohio can't get hot like Egypt. He is considering wearing shorts now, can't take the pain of the heat and sweat. We even have air too but its so sticky!

Sara, I'm here but only long enough to read and post in the Monday thread. Then it is off to finish off buying supplies for the shop! you and I totally gotta get together sometime.

Our plans for today will be...
1. Pack up car with remaining items from house that we wanna take to the shop.
2. Go to office depot for some office items.
3. Go to wal-mart and complete our shopping list of office needs and get groceries.
4. Stop at Phoenecia (our arabian market) to get the rest of the groceries.
5. Go home and unload / put away groceries.
6. go to IKEA and get a part to complete the file cabinet since they put 2 left sides of a drawer instead of a left and right...
7. go to the shop and put everything together and get started!!! woo wooooooooo

I'll be back on 2nite when we get home... ugg i'm tired already hehehe

Hubby is going back to Egypt for a month - two months max to take care of some buisness related things (we just started a small export buisness) and take care of a sick father (sigh).... at least this time I know he can come back whenever he wants

whew, i was worried jackie had found her scissors again.

has anyone else's food bill actually gone DOWN since their hubby got here? I used to spend,on average, about $220/week including eating out for pizza or at a restaurant. I just reviewed what I spent last month and on average including the same things I spent $130/week!

I used to shop at Stop n Shop, which I guess is expensive, and I never ever looked at prices. Just got what I needed and that was that. OMG now we HAVE to shop at Market Basket which is much cheaper (and better service actually) and he scrutinizes every single solitary item's price!!! Used to bug me but now that I look at the past month I"m starting to like it!

I told you so! I save at least $30-$40 a week by shopping at MB instead of Stop and Shop.

Not only that but with a mere $10 he gets just about all of our weekly fruits and veggies at Haymarket! I probably should let him get our meats at either of the two halal butchers there too but the meat just doesn't look right to me. Plus I can't figure out what it is I'm looking at when I inspect it.

Yeah, be careful with the butchers. Some of them are much cleaner than others.

Bridget: A cheapo like me very much appreciates the money savings! Wow, him being here has cut ur bill by half, thats totally awesome. Now more money for leisure and vacations. You guys should open a vacations savings account now with that extra $$ and go somewhere really nice. I will do that, Insha-Allah when my husband arrives, save some money for a few getaways.

so...the doc thinks zaid should get on nutramigen which is a lactose free formula that runs 30$ for a can of powder...i think that doc is high...that would be almost 110$ weekly...were gonna get a second opinion..there has to be other options for mild colic

Ok..he took me in his office, shut the door, to tell me that being 2 foot short on a job was UNEXCEPTABLE and omg on and on how his dad started the company 35 years ago..blah blah and he don't want to see it ran into the ground..and then he says.....'Jackie you are looking better and losing weight... after that I didn't hear much of anything. What does that have to do with anything?


Am I overreacting? Maybe I am. He wasn't hitting on me...he was reprimanding me for making mistakes. grrrrrrrrrr men. Ibrahim should be glad to be 6,000 miles away, men are on my shitlist today.

As far as the boss goes I wasn't there and I don't know the relationship between you two. From an outsiders perspective it doesn't seem like he did anything wrong but instead paid you a compliment. P.S. Bosses get to reprimand employees that's why they're the boss. lol
