Even if you pay online, the JamesShortcut helps you to prepare for everything in avance, basically, you save weeks of waiting for snail mail to happen. My wife sent an email for choice of agent(ds-3032), when I paid the I-864 fee, once I got the barcode cover sheet the next day, I sent off the I-864 papers, that day with next day mail. When i paid the IV fee, the next day I received the barcode and then sent the DS230... look at my timeline.... by the way, I just received IV fee bill yesterday in the mail. You be the judge... but basically the answer is yes, the JamesShortcut informs and prepares you for the process. I beleive you might be saving at least 1 month if not 2 months in the NVC process.

Yes you need to use James shortcuts to make the barcode coversheets for the I-864 package and the DS230 package. Just carefully read and follow the process. It is not difficult. When I first read it, I was not sure about it. But last night I made my coversheets so that I am ready when I need them. And it was actually very easy.

does the I-184 after u make a payment online has it own barcode?

yes, it does... that is why you wouldn't need to use the J shortcut... you still use the shortcut for the information and so you know what forms to get ready. You pay online and when they get the payment you are able to print the barcode.
