i want to find out more info then they are giving me

I am fairly certain someone will come along to help you with your question, although if you do not have an RFE, and are within processing times, I think the best course of action would be to be patient smile.gif

I'm sorry, but you've only been waiting since 4/14/08. You really should be more patient. There are VJ'ers who've been waiting since last year without any word of their case.

RFE is a Request For more Evidence, they send it to petitionner if he/she forgot something or did mistake on forms or needs more evidence of relationship, for my case i had RFE for police report mad.gif
wish u will get smooth timeline on visajourney good.gif

You filed in April right? unsure.gif

The trick is to sit back and wait! They couldn't possibly give you any information on your case so early.

There are no shortcuts unfortunately.

But if you check some timelines on here you'll see folk are still waiting that filed over a year ago.

You need the patience of a Saint or of Estadia, Zeenusah and countless others. You may want to look up their timelines on here. blink.gif

Good luck!

The RFE trick doesn't work, never really worked, so pretend you never heard of it.

If you have an RFE, by all means, call the RFE line. Otherwise, please leave it alone.

That last reply was so uncalled for. I suspect you will receive little help with such an attitude.

No one criticized you.
The truth is that there is NO trick, shortcut or anything like that. All you can do until you are outside of the estimated adjudication time is wait. That's it, and everyone knows it's frustrating not having minute by minute updates on the progress of your petition, and it sucks, but that's the way it is...For everyone.

Long ago someone posted that by pretending to have an RFE, they got to talk to someone and they thought it made their case go faster. That post caused a lot of people to try the "trick" but what happened is USCIS got mad at all these calls to the line that was set up for people with RFEs and may actually slow you case up if you try the "trick" now. My friends sister works there and said they do have a way of making your case move slower if you make excessive inquiries.

OK - this does not appear to be going anywhere - and some people seem to be getting upset. This thread is now closed. Thanks smile.gif
