One thing everyone here has in common, is a wedding (or a soon to be wedding!). I personally would like to see your wedding pictures and i'm sure everyone else would too, if you would like to share them! So please post them here and let's have a look at the happy couple - stories would be good too good.gif

Sprailenes
I got really drunk at my wedding and didn't leave the dance floor once. I seriously had the time of my life. Its so funny that months before I was thinking of canceling it. But having a few of my Canadian friends and family there made it so great.

I think everyone here has seen my thread and I'll put up the professional photographers photos up soon since they are ready. I just have to go pick them up. smile.gif

Here are a couple of my personal favourites:

Eric_and_Corinna
We got married in Maui at sunset...I spent most of the ceremony checking out whales jumping around in the water. And the minister decided to put me on the downhill slope of the beach, which makes our other pics look funny, since my wife is 5'11" and I'm only 5'8"!!
*Marilyn*

we just had a family friend do our pictures for us and he wasn't that great at setting up the shots.. or he might have told us to move so that darn wheel barrow wouldn't have been in the picture laughing.gif

i was a little annoyed with the lady who did the flowers.. I wanted all blue roses with just a few white roses... and then on the day of the wedding when I got the bouquet I saw that she had done more white ones.. my sis-in-law said she had done it like that because it had looked too blue the other way .. um yeah that is what I wanted.. I didn't want the flowers to blend into my dress tongue.gif and we had discussed just tying the ribbon around the flowers with a bow and leaving the green stalks showing but she completely wrapped it tongue.gifo well, it was still a pretty bouquet..

dang, I have this one picture that is one of my favourites but I don't have it on my computer.. it is my 4 brothers and my hubby and they are pretending to beat each other up.. lol I love that pic... I wanted to do more goofy ones but no one wanted to sad.gif.. my mom wanted to make sure she got all the shots she wanted to get tongue.gif

oh and by the way.. my mommy made my dress smile.gif.. I always wanted my mom to make my dress .....

You know what's really sad? I haven't even looked at all my wedding photos yet! I have moved twice since the wedding and they are all packed away!!! Here are a few I have on the internet.

Those are awesome, everybody. Just look at all the hotties! Marilyn, I actually like the wheel barrow in the picture. But it can always be photoshopped.

Really these are great!! So krikit, where are yours hmmm? We don't have any as we had a civil ceremony and the Daughter of the officiant just took some photos, which she promptly lost (can't remember if she lost the camera or the film).

Alas, I have the same story. We took a disposable camera with us and the officiant took the pics during the ceremony. (Civil wedding.) When they were developed they didn't turn out. Then I realized that my husband had packed that camera in his suitcase so it got zapped during the x-ray process. (Cameras should never go in checked luggage.... the x-ray machine is much stronger than the hand luggage x-ray machine.) We keep meaning to have them redone by a photographer but we just never seem to get around to it. blush.gif

Don't feel bad. My husband and I got married in August 2004. We finally actually put all our wedding pictures in a presentable album in January 2008. Before they were just a stack of photos in a ziploc bag. whistling.gif What was amusing was that we saw absolutely no couples that were together in the pictures that are still together now except for us. For fun, here is one of the pictures I have from the third day of our wedding. The map my husband is holding was blown out of a cannon.

The resulting treasure:

All of you guy's wedding pictures are really nice!
Krikit
That looks like a lot of fun, Wacken! But... uhhhh.... the THIRD day of your wedding? I didn't even want a first! laughing.gif
Leafgal
We had another couple take one of us when we were finished and we took one of them before they went in.
Cassie
Some of my favourite pictures are already in my photo section smile.gif I can't figure out how to link ones I have on flickr. sad.gif

Krikit
You know.... I really should check that photo section once in a while. I had no idea you were in there, Cassie! laughing.gif You are right.... they are lovely pictures. Thanks for yours too, Leafgal! Gosh, it's so nice to see everybody!
Leafgal
Well it is always nice to put a face to a name. Thanks everyone the pictures are all great.

In Germany, the only legal weddings are ones performed at the Standesamt. The Standesamt is a governmental body and being such, you generally had to have your wedding on a business day during business hours. Out of blue, we decided to do it on a Thursday. Naturally, not everyone could show up on a Thursday in the middle of the morning, so we created an event on Saturday that everyone could attend. On Friday, it was kind of a large family reunion for my husband's family (unfortunately, none of mine could afford the trip). On Saturday, we had the reception you see above which was open to all friends and family. It lasted from 6pm-5am. We were kind of nervous about if people would actually show up in costume, but everyone did and showed up ready to party. I don't think I could have asked for a better wedding, all and all. biggrin.gif

Wacken, the shirt your husband is wearing is almost identical to the one P will wear for our medieval wedding! I love it smile.gif
We're doing a sort of long wedding too. We're having a Polterabend 2 days before (because the day before is my son's birthday) then the wedding, which will be small, 45 guests, and then the day after we are going to the local Renaissance Fair with our families and friends.

I love everyone's pictures and I promise to post some after August 1st

OMG, I had the BEST time at the local Renaissance fair in Ontario! And my sister had a medieval wedding too! Only hers was in a castle in Ireland.... in Galway. She hired a coach for all of us to travel from England to Ireland and back. We stayed for almost a week and the bus driver took us all sightseeing in between. He brought his wife and they came to the wedding too. They were a hoot. I had soooooooooo much fun! Being single in Dublin was the BEST! luv.gif

Hmmm. I wonder if I have any pics of her wedding on this computer? unsure.gif I'll check!

I like the shirt too. I think we got it from some wool products street vendor in Oldenburg about two weeks before the wedding.

I look forward to seeing the pics, though I think we all understand if you are a little late in posting them. devil.gif

This is her webiste Gina Carter Photography

She is awesome and sooooo friendly....she also did our engagement photos....

Thank you everyone! We tried to skimp and budget on everything else but the photography since we wanted awesome photos as those would hopefully last us a lifetime. We had debated over videography and photography for our wedding. Final consensus was that we would scrape the video and just get the best photographer that we could afford. I'm so glad we did it. I was apprehensive at first but after seeing her work it was well worth it.

Krikit - Gina is really wonderful and accomodating too incase you decide to use her services.

Leon and I got married in Melbourne Australia. We got married at the registry. It rained that day but it didn't dampen our spirits! I was a wonderful day.

We had a small simple wedding. We wrote our own vows and my husband made my bouquet for me that morning with fresh flowers he picked out at the local market.

Cassie
Ok, I am bound and determined to figure out how to post pics from flickr, so here goes:
YAY I GOT IT! LOL

that does it! The two of you need to have a double vow-renewal ceremony and all of us will come and Carla and Marilyn and Kathryn will cater and flames will bring the Timmie's and Spirit will perform the ceremony and Mumsie will be the Emcee at the reception and the rest of us will take pics!! laughing.gif
