Thanks for all the replys
I am still bit confused. I thought EAD AND AOS were the same thing ??? Does this mean if I go ahead and file for EAD and pay $1,100 fee will my spouse eventually get the green card or will more paperwork need to be filled . Oh man this is way confusing than I though
When can he apply for a social security card, get his US drivers license...
Oh yeah...and we've only been married for 9 months now, does it matter what we apply for ?
Your spouse can apply for a social security card after he gets an EAD (employment authorization). Most states require a social security number to get a driver's license or state ID.
What Yu and Dan was referring to is if your AOS is approved before your second wedding anniversary you will have to apply for Removal of Conditions I-751 ($545 US). If the AOS is approved after the second wedding anniversary you can avoid Removal of Conditions.
You can apply for an EAD seperate from the AOS with form I-765 ($340 US).
