I received an email from my husband this morning, he finally called the USCIS hotline to enquire about the possibility of expediting the I-130 (need to expedite my husband before USCIS!!) based on my recent medical problem and financial hardship (I do not have health insurance here and the medical expenses has cost us quite a bit. And the episode has not ended because I still need to go back to the doctors for regular check-up and monitoring.)

First the person whom my husband talked to on the phone looked up the I-130 info and said the NOA2 for the I-130 should occur before the end of June. Next she told my husband she is going to e-mail him some steps that he can take and several forms he can file with proof of my medical condition.

My husband has to go out and he hasn't have a chance to check his email and discuss with me further on what to do. He will call later of the day and I will have more information and keep you posted about that.

I am excited about the news and the possibility of being united with my husband with an immigrant visa instead of a tourist visa, that will also save us from spending our hard earned money supporting the airlines!

Hey Leah,

I think the best thing to do is to get the congressman involved.

You can read the thread below for more info. Sarah did an expedite request too. Maybe you can PM her for more info.

Good luck!

New system regarding expedite requests

The new process with respect to expedite requests eliminates lot of frivolous requests. This is because NCSC will not send an expedite request forward if it does not fall within the category of the Center's expedite criteria. Note: The center will normally initiate requests for additional information, to support the expedite request within 5 business days. It will useful for the customers to give all required contact information to the NCSE when making an expedite request as requests for more information will be made telephonically, by email or by written correspondence. The expedite referral number will be very important and this number can be used as a future reference when inquiring for the status of an expedite request.

I found the above info on http://www.immigration.com, so I have a feeling that my husband was lied to yesterday about receiving forms to fill up in the email. So, he called again today (reluctantly, as he doesn't believe USCIS staff who identified herself could lie) and talked to another person identified as Leo. The man typed up a expedite request based on what my husband told him, gave him a reference number and told him to expect news within 5 business days.

A question for those who have sent in expedite request before: does the above sound real? I just hope that my husband is not being lied to again.

On the other hand, my husband finally see the NEED to contact the congressman and senator's office. He is on the phone now!

I had a officer from CSC take my request the phone, he typed it up, read it back to me, and submitted it, and yes he gave me a conformation number and said to wait 10 days for a answer. But I was denied a expedite. Nothing was mentioned to me aobut forms being emailed to me.
Good luck

No forms were e-mailed to me - just an e-mail stating that they needed me to send more information, along with my request number.

Paris,
Thank for sharing your experience.
The same happened when my husband called in, a man typed up the request, read back to him and submitted it and he got a reference number.

My husband has also called up a congressman's office today and made arrangement to fax in the supporting documents through them.

Abderrahim/Kodi,
Yeah, I think the woman who told my husband she is sending forms within 24 hours for him to fill up is either confused or a straight up liar.

Leah,
USCIS is not emailing forms for a expedite, think about it dear, you make the request, but they may ask for back up your expedite request, but they need to send you NO forms, they have what they need from you right there. I think that lady was just being rude and telling your husband what she told him just ot get him off the phone, and that is wrong. To me she gave you and your husband false hope and email from her that will never arrive.
Good luck with your expedite and I hope senator can help you.

I was all moody since this morning, we fought because hubby didn't want to include a cover letter with all the supporting documents sent through the congressman's office.

But, I am all excited now, after checking the online status for the third time today, it showed a "touch", and it must have happened past midnight eastern time because it was not there 3 hours ago!
