Hi all,

So I got married in November last year. I decided to move to my wifes country so I could be with her, and not have the pain of waiting for 8 months for a K3.
My plan was to file using DCF here in India (She is an Indian citizen).

However, our plans changed, and we might move to a different country soon (Turkey if it helps). Now, given that I've been here less than 6 months, I haven't filed for DCF yet. My question then: Is it possible to file for DCF in a third country, where my wife is not a citizen?

Thanks!

You probably can, but you will need whatever residency permit Turkey requires to file there. I would send them an e-mail and ask what is needed exactly to file the I-130 in Turkey.

Hi,

You would need to be living in Turkey for 6 months before you'd be able to file the I-130 in Ankara. The US Embassy has
a very detailed packet of information related to filing the I-130 in Turkey and all of the things involved:

I hope this helps you. smile.gif

Cheers!
