Hello,
I am here on a K1 originally and we got married in November.
Still I havent filed the AOS (!) because of a series of bad luck that led to money probs.
I feel very uncomfortable, almost like an illegal, by now.
My husband is a musician, he plays in Chicago soon and I could come with them.
Will I have problems cause of my papers on the airport?
Should I bring the marriage certificate with me?
Does anyone have the same difficulties?
Also:
From the uscis I heard that after 6 month it is really time to file.
What will happen?
I was on this board before and was told about the fee waiver, but it seems to be a lot of paperwork and we decided to try to pay it.
well,
thanks for Your help,
Pepi

As long as you are traveling within the US, you're okay with using your passport. The airlines are not interested in your legal status.

Does anyone know at what point You have to expect complications when You file Your GC so late after the wedding?

If you don't want to leave the US until after your GC has been issued, there are no complications... However, if you do want to leave the uS, don't let more than 180 pass between the date that your legal status expired and the date that the USCIS produces the Notice Date. If you do let it pass, you are subject to a 3-year ban on reentry..

On another subject... Why haven't you filed yet... getting your Immigration house in order should be your highest priority. You should be willing to beg, borrow and steal to get the funds necessary to file for AOS.
