Hi,

I was reading thro one of the interview experiences where it is mentioned that there was an indian guy doing the interview first,after which there was an american guy.

Is this the standard case with all interviews.I am appearing at the chennai consulate.

Does an indian officer screen first and then only pass it on to the American officer???

That seems to be the standard for all consulates in India.. All the people I know here were interviewed by an Indian including me.
The Indian CO will interview and approve or decide whaetever the case maybe according to what they feel and sometimes if they are not able to do that, they will pass it to the American CO for another interview..

For me also it was the Indian CO first and then the American. I am sure this must be the standard.

Thats the standard policy these days because there are less American CO officers and lots of interviews these days. I have heard that Indian consulates are busiest in the world.

My spouse went thro' Chennai consulate and yep, Indian consulate officials interview you(rather seriously) and then after few hrs, followed by American consulate officials..

Yes same here, hubby was interviewed by an Indian in Chennai then later by American.
