Hi, everyone. I have sent my application on May 22, 2008. I got certified-return mail on May 29. And the check was cashed on May 28. I have been reading forum since I sent my application.

1) Is there any problem at TSC? Why is most application that sent to TSC have been transfered to VSC?
2) If my application would have been transfered to VSC, how would TSC let me know? By NOA? or I have to find out mysefl? (If so, please tell me how)

Thank you.
Ree
It looks like TSC does not process I-751 any more, so that's why all applications has been transfered to VSC.

1) USCIS will from time to time re task their centers to handle specific cases, they have been consolidating many family based immigrations cases to VSC and CSC for some time now.

2) You will find out by the the NOA Letter.

TSC hasn't been processing I-751s for the most part since June 30, 2007, when for a chunk of time people filing after that date were automatically transferred to CSC.

Since December 2007, people filing at TSC were transferred directly to VSC. There was a good portion of us (who had filed before June 30th) still sitting at TSC until the end of January 2008, when most, not all, of us were transferred to VSC.

As of two weeks ago or so, USCIS made it official that the only two centres processing I-751s are California and Vermont. Your petition will automatically be transferred to VSC.

1)If my application has been transfered to VSC, then do I still get NOA with extented 1 yr GC?

2)What if it takes more than 3 months to get NOA? Because my GC expires Aug 2008, what should I do to stay in this courtry legaly?

1. Yes.
2. If it takes too long to get your NOA1 (the extension letter), make an INFOPASS appointment at your local district office and go and ask for the I-551 stamp to be put in your passport, this will cover you.

Thank you for your advice. I feel better.

I still have questions.
1) Can I still get the stamp of I-551 without any NOA or letter from USCIS?

2) I would take all my document and copies of my application. But is it enough evidence for them to give me stamp?

3) When should I do it? Before my expiration date which is Aug 2008? or Can I do in July?

Thanks.

Yes. You would bring your unexpired passport and your expired - or soon to be expired - Green card. They look up your file information through your A#. You just need to say that you have not received the NOA extension letter and need proof of your status.

Yes. Bring your proof of filing and the USPS receipt, plus a copy of the cancelled cheque (from your bank). You probably won't need them but that is sufficient proof. You don't need to bring all of your documents and the copy of the application. If their records show you have filed via the A# they can give you the stamp. If your A# doesn't show you have filed then they won't.

If you have not received your NOA letter by July, then yes, I would get the stamp at that time. I got mine 2 weeks prior to my card expiring, as the stamp is only valid for one year from the date you get it. Two to three weeks before your green card expires should be plenty of time - you could do it even later if you wished. You can make the appointment online through www.uscis.gov. The 'Make and Appointment" link is on the right hand side, I believe.

1) & 2) yes. There has been a huge backlog in sending out NOA1s from TSC which has been tracked in this thread:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=118137
People have gone to the INFOPASS, explained the situation (ie. haven't gotten their extension letter yet), and got their stamp. The officers look up your case on their computer, see the status, and then go from there.

3) I booked my appointment 2 weeks before my extension letter expired, and that was fine.

Thank you guys for respoding. I really appreciate.

I just got NOA letter with iyr extedned GC from TSC which was surprised to me. However. my appartment number is missing. Luckly, the mail man kenw my name so I was able to receive it.

1) Should I let the USCIS know the Apt # is missing? or I should just wait till everything done.(meaning until I receive my 10yr GC)? I dont' want them to get comfused or delay my case just because my apt# is missing.

Please tell me your opinion.

Thanks.

I would do several things - first call the information line and ask if they will update the address with the apartment number. Not trusting that they always do as they say they do, I would also put my name on or above the actual mailbox so that if your biometrics letter arrives without the apartment address the postman will be able to locate the correct mail slot, and third, when you do get the biometrics appointment letter and go to the biometrics appointment, verify the address they have and if it is still missing the apartment number ask them to correct their files. Good luck.
