Hi all,
I'm having my interview in a couple of days and I just wanted to ask if anyone can tell me what to expect.. Do I need to bring my pile of documents with me again? And what sort of questions do they ask you, besides the test questions? Also.. how many questions are on the test, and how much time are you given? And are you taking it by yourself or with a bunch of people? Now that it's coming so soon.. I'm kind of anxious!
Also, does my hubby need to come with me or is it a 1-on-1 thing?
Thanks so much in advance!
First of all good luck!
I did bring a copy of what they asked in this list that was included with my interview notice, then again all that the IO wanted to see were the tax transcripts since everything else I had provided when I had sent my N400. You will be asked a maximum of 10 questions for the civic test, you have to get 6 right to pass. As a matter of fact most IOs will stop at the 6th question if you answer correctly. They are asked orally, one at a time and you have to answer each question right away. You will also be asked to write a simple English sentence to see how you spell, mine was "I have three children". I suppose they can determine how good your English is by listening to the way you speak to them while interacting at the interview. You will be by yourself at the interview, you will be sworn in and on camera too. In Baltimore, which is where I had mine, spouses are not allowed to attend citizenship interviews for security reasons they said, but it might be different somewhere else. You will also be asked all those yes/no questions of form N-400 again and they will update the list of your trips outside the country if you took any after you filed for citizenship.
In a nutshell that is pretty much it, mine lasted probably around 10-15 minutes in total.
Do not worry you will be fine
P.S.
In the other thread you said they didn't give you the blue book at your biometrics, the flashcards and the other material you found on USCIS will do as well, same thing.
