No news here but the new waiting list comes out in like 3 days. I am expecting an intervew in April or May. I hope they surprise me.

twincactus where are you from? Wow your still waiting for a interview? Your case was complete 4/14/2005 ? Wow thats a long wait sorry I hope you get your date soon!! Ive been waiting for my husbands but not sure if its to early to expect one but I havent wait as long as you have yet. Good Luck!

hey daniel and everyone!!! thanks for restarting the thread... so many of the threads i like to read have disappeared...

anyhow, last time I called juarez they told me i could call back feb 4 (9 months after they processed my case) so I'm getting excited...but trying to remember that they also said it might be march or april before they tell us the date..

Paolo's tourist visa runs out this month so he's going back for the remainder of the wait unfortunately he will have to stay with is family (his mom isnt supportive of us) so it will be twice as hard for him as it will be for me....but we are hoping for only a month of separation this time around (wishful thinking i know)

Yeah anyway Todd, what's up? Let me know if I can help. You need to let the press know that your Congressmen don't care. That is the only way I know you can put pressure on them. Write them and tell them you are going public (don't threaten). Let them know they may be in the news, and then tell your story everywhere that you can. Newspapers and TV stations like human interest stories. Make sure when you tell your story you stress how much you love your wife and how hard it has been just to get her here.

Jill, thanks for your prayers. I am hoping for a miracle at the end of this month when the list comes out. We could be in May if they don't move too fast.....

March 6,2006...and we are leaving on thursday to spend a week in merida and then off to juarez...I can't believe it is finally happening!

David, I do have a few questions...we've been waiting so long that I seem to have forgotten all of the info I once learned from this site!

1. Do we have to fill out a new ds230 and I864, even though they were submitted to nvc already?
2. Do we need to bring passport photos?
3. The visa fee ($360) that they speak of in the packet....that is one of the fees we already paid to nvc, right?
4. Where did you stay? One of the Holiday Inns????

oooh. take warm clothing. it is cold in the morning in cd juarez. another thing, there is a pay phone within the consulate's compound. if they don't let you in, your hubby can call you(your cell or hotel) from there and let you know if he needs some paper or the other.

Man it look like Mexico's wait is about as long as ours.....one year wait for the interview. I don't envy any of the newbies at all.

Our date will almost definitely be in May. The new waiting list comes out on the 28th.

OK, update folks.

We are now 7XX on the list.

That means we are almost sure to have an interview in May!

I am leaving Sunday to go down and see her, and when I get back I am going to call over to the visa specialist to find out if we have a date. Some people on my board have called before the waiting list is out and they got their date!

Man I can't believe it will be a year and a half. If our marriage can stand this, we can go through anything.

I'll update you guys when I have a date for sure. Am I the last one here?

I hope you enjoy the time with your wife and that when you call they will tell you the date. For us, once we knew the date, the time went a lot faster and the end is actually in site!!!

We are in Juarez now, got in line at the consulate at 5:30, Paolo got in at 6:30 and now i´m back in the hotel waiting. We really hope he gets the visa today and we can get out of here. I need to get home so I can make a dr. appt....we have a little one on the way!

Sorry I've been so absent but life seems to get in the way!

Spring is trying hard to get going round here. I have grow lamps and seedlings all over the house and can't wait to get out. My daughter and family arrive in just over 2 weeks and my mum and sister at the beginning of May .. can't wait to show them around!

And ... my daughter signed a pre-sale contract for my house yesterday!!! It's taken well over a year but I didn't have to drop my original price by much ... about 5%. Anyway I was celebrating last night and Butch spent all evening on the IRS site trying to figure out the capital gains aspect!!

Jill, have him pick up a copy of Turbo Tax. It is fantastic software and won't let you make any mistakes.

I should know my interview date by the end of the week or at the latest, next week. I am on pins and needles waiting.

Hey everybody, we finally got our interview date. I have been sworn to secrecy by my wife. It's a shame that some people in her country might want to screw up your interview but that is what sometimes happens so I can only say that the date is at the end of May. We are extremely happy about it though, and I promise I will let you guys know the minute we get the visa!

USCIS told me to get a state ID, the state said you must have SSN to get ID.
So I took a day off and we went to the social security office took a number and waited
about 15 min, I filled the form out before we left, the woman took all the info and used her
Thai ID along with her passport, I about fell over! 5 days her card was in the mail,
she is working days and week ends now at a Thai restaurant part time, she says "I can
practice my English then get better job" she is doing good but still misses her local food.
Oh! yes we are still trying but the oven is still empty

How's everyone doing! So sorry I got side-tracked but it's all been great! Ying has settled into the boat and has managed to make it her own. We had her out of the water (the boat you ninnys) for Ying's first yard period. Remember it was on my 4 pages of things to do (that never got done...). We made a trip to Seattle so Ying could meet my daughters (who rarely are in the same place and the same time). Also got to meet my newest grandson. Work has kicked it up a knotch with me going to the day shift at the start of the year. My boss is talking about a promotion for me, but being a contractor, I take that with a grain of salt. Ying is taking ESL courses M-T-W and doing quite nicely. She's turned out to be an expert knitter (I knew she could knit, just didn't know how well). Some of the babes on the dock want her to knit up a bunch a sweaters and sell at the local swapmeets and such around here.

I've read through all the posts and what can I say...I so totally stunned that it's take so long for Tim and Sandy. Holy crapola! Next time you hear me whining be sure to ask for the cheeze because these guys are the real heroes of this journey in my book.

Daniel, yeah...I had the sign up but the guys on the dock said enough is enough and threw it away! So now I just turn the boat around...he he he, nimrods all of them. Thanks for archiving our thread...very cool, dude!

Hey Jill, congrats on the sale of your house. Wow, sounds like you're having a house full of family.

We are doing fine. Onn just keeps on getting bigger. Only about a month and a half before the baby comes. Man how does life change. Just keep trying and I am sure it will happen. Try not to stress I hear it make it more difficult. Just relax and enjoy it, Just not too often, let the little guys build up and may try to time it.

Good to see you are doing fine. As for the baby's ours is due on june 7th and Sandy is expecting a child also. From what the ultra sound tech said Onn will be having a little girl.

Great knowing you still remember me!!! David, congrats to you and Onn but as I think about it, I think I knew this information. Just lost it somewhere in the mill. Hope it's a girl!! I my humble opinion, they are the best! I raised 2 so I have a pretty good handle on that end of things. Ying has a 14 year old which I hope will want to come to the US and start her life. It's hard leaving behind friends and family at that age unless you are brave beyong belief.

Sounds like things are going for you as well. Ying is wanting a job pretty bad now. She is thinking about an offer from an old friend to stuff envelopes at home for $500/mo. I think I will look on base and see if she can get a start that way.

I see! So instead of stressing for Tim for 24 hours, we're going to have to worry for a full 2 weeks!!!

And SailorBoy has finally popped up to let us know he's still doing good? lololol

Daughter and family are here at the moment and the house seems to have taken on a new life! Boy are 18 mth babes a handful .. I had forgotten just how much they can get up to .. or in to!

To those of you who are expecting ... buy duct tape! None of us can get into the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen now .. but it makes for peace of mind!

I took the wife to the DMV... she passed her test in english the first time
We are very happy about that, I just bought a new Toyota Corolla S with sport package fun car to drive.
She now is saying she wants a smaller car for her so I will be selling my 4x4 jimmy and we will be looking at a ... (I wonder if hot wheels would be small enough ) as she says "a small lovely car"
