I took my kids to see the Body Worlds exhibit at the museum this past weekend. On the news this morning they said it's being packed up today and heading to Edmonton Canada next. Anybody who is interested in learning about human anatomy, this is a MUST see!! They have those self-guided tour listening devices, but we didn't use them. I wish we had though because everyone who had them seemed to be very enthralled listening to them. If you go, take the time in the beginning to read about how they preserved these bodies...it's interesting.

I wish I was still living in Edmonton, or that I was at least allowed to visit, but not yet sad.gif

Is this the scientific exhibit where they have the human bodies with portions dissected? I saw that advertised on billboards when it was here in Orlando. Gave me the heebie jeebies. sad.gif I'm impressed that you went, CBR. Good for you.

We had it in St. Louis for a while. It is amazing!

Yep I saw it maybe 2 years ago, or maybe last year, but think it was longer then that here in Denver. Pretty wild things there are to see in it. And definatly freaky knowing these were once walking and living people...

Lol, yes it is. I'm an RN so I'm used to that kind of stuff (well sorta). It was very interesting and I wish I had access to something like that when I was in nursing school in the 90's.

Very freaky indeedy. It just amazed me how they dissected them so precisely. I can't imagine how they dissected the nervous system like that (unless they added strings cuz it seems like that would be impossible). The whole section on babies was very sad. I thought it was nice that at least they put it in a separate room and had soft music playing in the background. Seemed more respectful that way. In fact everyone walking through was pretty quiet and respectful throughout.

That's hilarious. I was going to say "You're in the medical field, aren't you, CBR?" laughing.gif

Yes, we're a sick and twisted bunch. You should hear what we talk about during lunch. Your head would spin!

Gene and I saw it when it was in St. Louis. An absolutely MUST see! It's not gruesome at all I didn't think. Very tastefully presented. So anyone that does have a chance to see it, I'd recommend it.

Oh, God, no. I had to avert my eyes every time I drove by the billboard. laughing.gif I have enough nightmares as it is.

Yeah I wanted to see it... sad.gif But it was in Chicago while I was living in Montreal...and moved to Montreal 2 weeks after I moved to Chicago.... protest6wz.gif

Talk about bad timing...sad.gif

I used to work as a necropsy technician for animals and this would have been so cool to see...

We saw it when it was at the Science Centre in Toronto....amazing truly! But it was crazy busy! People packed shoulder to shoulder and you had to buy a ticket for a particular time frame.

They actually let us hold a liver that had gone through that 'plasticization' (sp).

Very interesting in deed!

The kids seemed to like it although they kept pointing and snickering at the private parts that were exposed....he he he

We saw this last October in Washington. It was wonderful..I'd go again yes.gif
