I kinda felt one coming on so I adblocked it, for anyone else in similar situations, until you can permanently block flashy images, pressing the esc key will make it stop flashing.
oh and 1337 is pronounced Leet. |337 15 wh3r3 p30p|3 7yp3 |1k3 7h15 1n 0rd3r 70 4nn0y 4ny0n3 0v3r 7h3 463 0f 7h1r733n.
(translated) leet is where people type like this in order to annoy anyone over the age of thirteen.
ohhhhhhhhh. I never knew that. Guess that's a good indicator that I'm over the age of thirteen.
Thanks for the esc key information. It worked.

QUOTE(stina&suj @ Jun 3 2008, 10:20 AM)

Do you think it's necessary for so many people to give one person such a hard time?
I don't see it as giving her a hard time. Strobe-like flashing is a known trigger for epileptic seizures. (Please see the first line in KissChick's post, above.) At a minimum, the flashing is mildly annoying and/or highly distracting.

Ok... I finally took the time to block all of the images that annoy me. I've blocked all things from Glitter, all images from Meez, and all images from someone who had an enormous siggy image.
That still doesn't change the fact that "Someone" should change their damn siggy image before it really DOES cause someone to have a seizure. It's been mentioned to this person at least three other times in topics other than this one. To leave it there is just rude, insensitive, thoughtless, and moronic.

If I did it by right clicking on your flag image, it would block ALL images coming from 3D flags. That's why I don't use it unless I really need to. However, ALL things from Glitter and ALL things from Meez are annoying, so I guess I'm pretty safe by blocking those.

For those of you already using Firefox, you can install an addon called
Adblock, with that you can block certain images or everything that comes from that site. I no longer see a lot of annoying banner ads, hell I don't even see google adwords anymore

I love it!
With it, you right click and select adblock image. If you no longer want to see banner ads from a certain website you click on the word adblock down in the very bottom corner of your screen, find it on the list and what I do is remove everything past the .com or whatever and ad an *, this is the wild card character and it will block all ad images from that particular website.

It has done wonders for my Neopets account!

I feel quite on top of the world today, actually and being in my early 30's wouldn't make me old at all. Children have seizures too, does this make them grumpy and old? Ok, I'm going to address this seizure thing as I actually DO have a seizure disorder and try to stay away from strobey flashing lights. It IS something an EEG tech will use to try to get you to have seizure activity when you are going through a test. I gave SHAPE'S siggy a look see, hoping that because of being on a smaller scale, it would be fine for me to view, and I can't say it would bring on a seizure (err, unless I stared at it continuously for several minutes or something), but seriously, after looking at it for about 30 seconds, it made my eyes blurry. Yep, a good reason to keep siggies disabled. But I can't say it WOULDN'T trip the switch to cause a seizure either.

Well, in this thread all I said was that your signature gave me a seizure! Which, to me, is obviously in jest, with a hint that maybe the signature is not appropriate. I think most reasonable people would just take it down. If you see how she replied, I don't have much hope that a PM would have resulted in a pleasant reaction.
