Yes you will need a secondary evidence. I used an affidavit from my mother.. This is what I used and had no problem at all...

• I was born in <city, state, country> on <mother's date of birth>.
• I got married to <father's name> on <date of marriage>.
• I am the mother of <your name> and <father's name> is his/her father.

In India school certificate is accepted

The only problem I though with a school cert was that it does not list the names of both the parents...
Indianheart, I see your interview is on June6th...All the best good.gif

Names of the both parents are mentioned on cert but place of birth is not there, can i send that? should i need to send original or photocopy will work?
ELW
Sending secondary evidence is always best. An Affidavit from one or both parents is best. Also 10th class certificate (though it shows father's name but not mother's). Caste certificate is also optional.

I'm not sure about the new regulations and how CR1 visas work, but I think you have to send the original birth certificate to NVC when they request it. They will return it at the interview so don't worry. Wait and see what NVC requests you to send.

I think they are mainly concerned with the name, date and parent's names on the birth certificate, not the place of birth. However if you can get your parents to sign an Affidavit on stamp paper with all the details of your birth, that is best. You can send that along with birth certificate and matriculation certificate. Good luck! good.gif

The distric polie refused to give PCC certificate to my wife with a call letter. They also referred her to passport office. I hate this process.

Hi kman

you need u summit copy of NOA 1, NOA2, voter ID card , passport copy with the covering latter . then they will help u .

To Whomsoever It May Concern

I, <Full Name>, the citizen of the United States (holding the U.S Passport# nnnnnnnn), would like to sponsor my spouse <Full Name> (beneficiary) as an immigrant to the United States.

As part of this immigration process, I have filed her I-130 (Petition for Immediate Relative) with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and this petition has been approved on April 12, 2008. To proceed for her immigrant visa (Green Card), beneficiary’s many original documents have to be submitted to the National Visa Center (NVC) at New Hampshire, United States. And one of them is Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from the Passport Office and the Police Station, if the beneficiary is aged above 16 years.

Please review the attached I-130 Approval Notice from the USCIS.

NVC has some pre-requisites in the format of PCC and I hope you would be able to issue the same in the required format.

• It must be in English and must be on the official stationery with the seal and signature of the respective authority
• It must cover the entire period of the applicant’s residence at <Provide address here>
• It must state what the appropriate police authorities’ records show concerning the beneficiary, including all arrests, the reason for the arrest(s), and the disposition of each case of which there is a record. If there are no records, specify it clearly.

I kindly request you to issue the original PCC for her as soon as possible to proceed with her visa. Any help on this matter from you would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns on the above matter, please do not hesitate to contact me at 001-nnn-nnnnnnn or at the address specified below.

We were trying to obtain the PCC certficate without the NOA2. I am going in July to see my wife so hopefully we will be approved by then. If we are approved, I will go personally with all the things you listed. I don't see any reason for denial with all that proof.
