Hi all. My Brother is flying of to Thunder Bay in August. He's got a good quote from Glasgow UK- Toronto but he's having a bit of a problem getting a good deal from Toronto - Thunder Bay.

Can anyone recommend any good websites for flights? The quotes he is getting is nearly the same from the UK to Canada.

Here is the link to the Thunder Bay airport along with the airlines operating out of there. I see West Jet is listed - they would be my first choice to check out. I flew with them from Hamilton to Montreal for my interview - they have since moved from Hamilton to Toronto. Great airlines and usually one of the better priced.

I think your other options are Air Canada Jazz and Bearskin. Westjet is probably your best bet, but sometimes AC can be decently priced if you book early enough...

That leg of the route may be pricey because its not a common route. West jet usually offers goos service and can have great sales. In a few weeks im flying with West jet from Calgary to Saskatoon! I booked well in advance and thought the $141 was a good price. Was happy I made the purchase, because the fare jumped to $160! BUT right now it has DROPPED to $89!! ouch,lol

Airfares within Canada are VERY expensive. Few airlines fly to the smaller cities. Kathryn provided a good link but be prepared to pay a lot.

God there expensive. I flew over to Canada from UK for $220 then I got a return for $160. That was in 2006 though. Changed days it seems.

I see the one way price from TO to Thunder Bay at $159 - seat sale, Westjet (I searched for June 16th) - it won't get better than that. As already mentioned, prices within Canada for flights are very high. It's still pretty cheap to hop the pond, they probably make their money flying people to Toronto to get those flights

It all depends on when and where you are going. Commuter flights to small airports are pricey. The lowest prices are when the children are in school and the flights are to major airports. Still lower prices are with the budget airlines, but you get what you pay for. Air Transat isn't known as Air TransCrap for nothing. But buyer beware.... if you read their policies you may find that you would have been better off paying for a flight on another airline by the time you figure in the cost of the "extras". I'm on the mailing list for certain airlines (Southwest, WestJet, Virgin Atlantic) so I am always aware of upcoming seat sales. If you are flexible in your travel plans, that's your best bet for obtaining low fares.

I've used AirTransat once and I didn't have a problem with them. Toronto - Glasgow UK cost me $160. Seems as though westjest are giving the best prices from Toronto - Thunder Bay.

Flying out or into Pearson also sucks. Pearson Airport has the most expensive airport taxes in the world I believe. Because of the cost the airport incurs to do its repairs and operation, they have to hike the fairs. It's a total bummer.

Hi William. Westjet is having a really good seat sale Toronto to Thunder Bay right now. It won't get any cheaper than this, so I'd grab it.
