Hi B,
the side effects are very minor, if anything.Like all vaccines there is possible allergic reactions that may happen.Studies have shown that these also are usually minor. If you dont have any history of reations to vaccines it is not a bad idea to just get the hpv shot.If you have a personal reason to not get it then tell them so. I cant see this being a reason for denial. All vaccines are not mandatory. I know this does not really answer your question, but is something to think about.Take care

Hi there,
As much as possible, It's better to have all the required vaccinations here at St. Lukes since it's all included at the medical fee, coz even if you didn't get it in Philippines, you will still need to have it in US which is you will need to pay again. So, why not have it here in Philippines?
As for the side effects, here are some of it:
Karaniwang Sintomas pagkatapos ng Bakuna:
-sakit at pamamaga sa lugar na pinagbakunahan
-pagsusuka
-sakit sa ulo
-pagkabalisa
-sakit ng mga buto o laman
-panghihina ng katawan
-hirap sa paghinga
-lagnat
-pamamantal
-walang tigil na pag iyak
-pangangati
-pagtubo ng maliliit na butlig
-pagtatae

HPV vaccines here is sooooooooooooo expensive like $200 per shot and you need 3 shots for 1 year (according to my doctor). That vaccine will protect you from getting cervical cancer in the future.

i think HPV Vaccine is the greatest invention nowadays... i would want to have my child to have it for protection if i have one... i wanted to have that vaccine but im too old for it... aged out.. its a vaccine protection against Cervical Cancer... HPV is the most common cause of cervical cancer and this vaccine protects you from it... a lot of success stories are written online about this.. do a little research to make you at ease... id rather suggest taking it in the Philppines where everything is cheaper....
God bless

How old is the age limit?I believe it's 26... I tried getting it here since it's under my health insurance coverage but I didn't qualify... I'm 3 years older than the limit. I can get it if I really want to but I will have to pay for it on my own, which is $600 here for 3 vaccines in 1 year (according to my Dr.)

actually the protection it gives against cervical cancer is very strong but STD are in line together with cervical cancer was the very main reason why they are imposting people to get the vaccine. majority of the people who gets this disease are the ones who are sexually active.

Hi again,
I had the HPV vaccine last May 12, 2008, and don't worry to have it too coz the side effects only for few days, mine it's 4 days, and in some 2 or 3 days.
You will be fine. Like Mae said, it's below 26, so if you are still bound for that, better to have it here as less expensive compared in US, besides it's already included in the medical fee that you will pay at St. Lukes.

Is anyone can tell??? maybe somebody there skip the hpv vaccine ,can you share it here..???? Hello, really do not know but my wife had her medical examination on the 18th of May at St. Lukes and St. Lukes would not give her any vaccations because they thought she might be pregnant but was not.
Anyway on the 21St of May, she had her interview at the Embassy at which time they took her passort and she passed the interview. They gave her the pink delbros slip.
Now we are waiting for her passport to be delivered.
