Crucial moment for me as I just paid for my IV Bill online. Last time I checked it was in a processing status. I'm starting this thread out just in case I have a bunch of questions and would appreciate your quick response. As of now, I am working on the forms I-864 & DS-230 to be mailed out ASAP.
One question I have is if I have a co-sponsor, would I count that person as an additional # to add in the family house hold?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Another question I have is..
Am I suppose to send a copy of the I-130 to my wife (the beneficiary)?
I also noticed in my copy of I-130 my employer's company name is INCORRECT by one letter. For example... Instead of "Bullet Compnents" which is the correct spelling, it's spelled "Dullet Components" which is INCORRECT. Would I have to correct this with USCIS?

If your co-sponsor lives in the same household(address) as you (i.e., he/she is the household member as well), then you need to add that to the number. You don't have to send a copy of I-130 to your wife. About the spelling mistake if I was you, won't worry about it as it is just one alphabet... but that is just me

does she need proof of payment for the I-130, not the copy but the proof of payment? The payment was $190

whats the difference between these two?
# I-864 Cover letter
# I-864 barcoded cover sheet
can someone give me a detailed description and perhaps a visual?

# I-864 Cover letter Optional, this is just a content list of the items you're sending with you packet
# I-864 barcoded cover sheet Very Very important. If you forget to send this, your case would be delayed.

You should approach the HR personnel for your company for the employment letter stating the current full-time status, when you started working and salary on the official company letterhead with contact information. Mine is very short; one paragraph will do it.
If you still keep your pay stubs, it's a good idea to send those in too. As for cover letter and barcode sheet, Sky2k is already covered above.
Good luck!

let's say i work for a really small company and I want to put out the time myself and draft a "Letter of Employment" for my employer so all they would have to do is sign. anyone have a sample template for item mentioned above?
I also have checks from where I work. The checks are regular checks with company name on it. Doesn't have a pay stub, so can I make a copy for each of the last 3 pay checks i received from my employer?
considering that I am working directly with the boss in regards to this matter. I don't want my boss having to draft the letter so I will do it myself and have my boss sign it. Is that possible?

I WAS WONDERING...
whats the difference between federal tax return & IRS Tax transcripts???
Do I need both for the I-864 form or can I just provide of of the above mentioned?
what I have is from when I filed tax and I got a folder of my tax records for 2007. Inside the folder is my tax paperwork. Is that the fed. tax return or is it the IRS Tax transcript? Thanks.

hi,
i noticed in aussiewench's instructions had one extra item, "Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data" which in James shortcut did not include. Can someone explain in details and if this is important or not. Either way, I am adding it to my doc package to mail out just in case.

No, you don't need to include the Authorization of Release in your package. It's obsolete now.
It seems that you just need to send two packages that NVC is waiting before your case is completed. Gather these two parts and send them once you're done. Modify the lists according to your circumstance. Good luck!
(1) I-864, Affidavit of Support- Coversheet with barcode
- Form I-864
- 2007 Tax Transcript
- 2006 Tax Transcript
- 2005 Tax Transcript
- Employment letter
- Pay stubs
(2) DS-230, Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration - Coversheet with barcode
- Form DS-230 Part I (with signature) and Part II
- Birth certificate of the beneficiary
- Original birth certificate
- Translation
- Photocopies
- Marriage certificate
- Original marriage certificate
- Translation
- Photocopies
- Police certificate of the beneficiary
- Original police certificate
- Translation
- Photocopies
- Photocopy of valid passport biographic data page of the beneficiary
- Two 2x2 inches passport photographs of the beneficiary

as of today, my status for IV bill shows PAID. I paid for it yesterday.
I am wrapping up my I-864 @ 90% and will be mailing out Over Night by noonish. also waiting on DS-230 package coming from Vietnam. Once I get that, I will mail it out immediately. In the meantime I assume I should prepare & send all evidence to my wife for her interview day. If all goes right, I'm expecting her to get an interview date in July. Hopefully July 4th. That would mean alot regarding freedom.
Any suggestions regarding evidence for interview day would be appreciated. Thanks.

I just want to get this absolutely clear... What is the difference between co-sponsor and "III. Household Members whose income and assets are to be considered:
A separate Form I-864 for each household member whose income and assets are to be to be used."?
what if you have a co-sponsor and that person is a family member in my current household?
