hi guys..

my husband in india (hyderabad) is getting ready to get his vaccinations done, he has no record of what he got when he was a kid...

where can we find a list of what exactly he needs done..

are they all given in one day at one time..?

he plans to do this before going to chennai for his medical...
ELW
My husband also resided at Hyderabad and did his medical in Chennai.

Usually, three shots are required: MMR, Varicella, and TD (tetanus). Please note that MMR and Varicella require two shots each, the second shot is given a few weeks after the first. There has been talk of DTP (diphtheria and tetanus) being suggested by a physician recently too.

Here is a vaccination chart (shots required depending upon age) from a US Consulate Website:

continuing ELW's information, TD has three shots - second one month after the first and third six months after the second. I got the second shot and got through with the paperwork. Go for TD instead of DTP. If required by the civil surgeon/ panel doctor, you can get the Polio (P part of DTP) separate.

The doc who gives the vaccinations should give some proof, a statement on letterhead AND the sticker on the vaccination bottle, with date. Getting the vaccinations in Hyderabad would be easier, as some of the injections need more doses and there is no reason to take the long trip to Chennai just for that. no0pb.gif All you have to do is show the proof when doing the medical in Chennai and the doc will transfer the info onto the required forms. yes.gif
