This really sucks, I paid the document ver. fee April 2 and it wasnt forwarded until 5-5-08 to the nso. If it was really ever forwarded at all. Now Diane tells me they got that batch of 5-5-08 today but my name wasnt there. When I told them to call the NSO and straighten it out she said I have to wait 6 weeks from 5-5-08 for them to do any follow ups with the NSO. no matter how much I demanded to speak to the manager she wouldnt put him on the line. I tried contatcting my congressman put it seems they are far to busy to answer a phone or any emails I send them. I explained how people who paid almost a month after me are getting there visa's and they arent doing squat with my fiancees case she just always says "every case is handled different", which I dont understand. If any case should be expedited or treated with better treatment it the ones who have waited the longest not the ones who paid last week. Somehow, even though she can see mine was forwarded on 5-5-08 and it didnt return in the 5-5-08 batch she isnt permited to call them until 6 weeks. It would take 5 minutes of there time but they have to follow there stupid government rules to the T even if obviously there was a mistake made that could be fixed now. She even told me it didnt return with the 5-5-08 batch, so its not there but she refuses to call and find out what happened. Its not her falt. She is given these rules she has to follow to a T even if she knows there is a problem. So I guess now after 6 weeks they will finally notify the NSO and then they will take 3 more weeks and the Embassy will need at least a week to take 2 seconds to look at my fiancees papers. So maybe I have 6 more weeks ahead of me. I seem to have no representation by the US government from our congress. They are almost inaccesable and never respond. They are as useless as the Embassy. I really wish I was from another country. No other countries do this with immigration. If anyone knows anything I can do to get something done it would be appretiated. I tried the NSO line but it never works on my phone for some reason. I dont know who else to contact.

she will be monitoring every monday with the NSO to make sure docs were sent to them..

bear in mind that you are not alone on this waiting thing, be patient, couple of days waiting is really worth it . . . .

Welcome to document verification prison. The DOS does not care if the the document verification is a poorly run process and your Senator/Congressmen can do no more than inquire.

We paid the verification fee on January 7th and did not get the visa until mid-April, making my wife the VJer with the longest time in doc verification prison. I called and mailed the DOS, called the USEM, wrote a letter to the USEM, contacted Senators, called DELBROS and NSO to no avail.

You can try writing a letter to the DOS, preferably Conda Lisa Rice's office, write a letter to the USEM consulate(they have a US Address), and contacting the vice presidents office. The more people that make the government aware of this poorly run system the more likely it is to get attention.

The most effective thing I did was warn other VJers to call DELBROS and verify the payment notification was sent to the USEM.

so far everyone who has handled my fiancee's case so far has made mistakes. First delbros takes over a month to forward it, then the NSO looses the papers, now the Embassy will do nothing. Ive given up hope. Im just planning for her to be here in about 2 months. 2 weeks to wait to redue the proccess then 3 weeks at the nso again then 2 weeks for the embassy to do nothing so they can release the visa. I feel like an idiot for telling my family I was getting married this month and making plans. It makes me so mad the way the government can do anything they want and get away with it using tax dollars. No buisness could ever do things like this and stay in buisness. The government always charges 5x the amount a buisness would and takes 5x longer. And they act like dumb robots. Even if they see a problem just like stupid robots they do only what they are programed to do and nothing more.

The only good thing that will come from all of this is that you will have a great story to tell when you get old...

Don't blame the U.S. Embassy. Read what was in the Manila Times April 07, 2008

Mayor Alfredo Lim of Manila ordered the immediate closure of establishments on Recto Avenue in Manila suspected of producing fake diplomas, transcripts of records and other certificates and documents.

Lim has tasked Manila’s police chief, Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales, to “continue without let-up” the clearing of Recto Avenue or the University Belt of racketeers who prey upon undergraduates and applicants who need foreign visas and other certifications.

The Embassy is under the dept, of Homeland Security so they are getting their orders to check documents closely for immigration. Don't give up hope you are so close now and some people wait for years to get a visa.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but was there ever a time when USEM didn't require document verification at all? And now the people that are caught up are the honest, law abiding, genuine, legitimate relationships. It can be frustrating at times. But we are helpless because we can only sit and wait........

I have said some harsh things toward the delbros and the NSO and I've been quite upset with the process on Zandys doc verification.. But if I recall.. Stephen had to come back from the Phils empty handed and he used up his vacation. Zandy even met him and his fiancee at the USEM during her interview. I don't know if you flew over because of being told by Robbie that your papers were sent to the NSO when they weren't But your case is quite hard to swallow. I am with you man..

I found out today that my fiancee's documents arrived at the Embassy from the NSO on Friday. Hopefully there are no more complications from this point. Its been about 60 days since I paid the document verification fee. I just want to get married to my fiance soon and try to never think about this.
I think if my understanding is correct this is a fairly new proccess from what ive heard. There are many faults and inconsistancies right now in this proccess as well as bad procedures.
This is also evident in the I129f wait. People in CA wait 6 months and people in Vermont only 1 month if they are lucky. If too many states are going to CA why not evenly distribute the applications. Or if the managment is bad in CA why wont someone in the government find out why there are such big time gaps. It just seems that there is no regional oversight in anything the government does. There should be a regional manager that oversees this as well as people who oversee all the embassies to see what is going on over there. Its so disorganizes and chaotic over there. I guess who is ever going to tell the government they arnt doing a good job or hacking it and have it matter. Its not like us who have jobs and are not working efficiently who are held accountable by our bosses. If our bosses dont care there bosses do so people always end up working or loose there jobs. The government is the boss of everyone, so I guess there is no accountability. That will be my last rant, i'll be only possitive for now on since my fiance should be getting her visa soon.
