I received my ssn card today,, it was dated May 20, 2008
I thought it was like SSN in PI that looks like credit card with pic... here it's just a thin paper & not laminated.. but it's ok, not a big deal
tomorrow I will get my State Id also..

Coz even though it's thin and looks cheap, its actually a special paper that is hard to fake. So if you laminate it, authorities wont be able to tell if your card is real. This reasoning is from the old days. Of course now, authorities would be able to tell if its fake by just the number. Its all centralized now.

K-3's have to wait til have EAD or green card to apply for SSN. just the way the law is...... it's nice that you received your SSN

thats good to hear... also, dont carry it w/ you and try to put it on a safe place... identity theft is rampant in the US... dont share your ssn right away to anyone whom you think is not legit or w/ out a valid reason why they want to have your ssn... esp online... lol... well, go go go primie... enjoy the life!!!

Right now Fayanne is carrying with her an internationals drivers license for ID.

We went to a bar/restaurant the other day. And she has to bring her big internationals drivers license... and the security was saying WHOA OMG. This is the largest license he's ever seen.

Looks more like a fishing license.

me too i dont want to carry my passport anywhere, ntrauma aq before, I lost my passport in other country worst ala p phil embassy don.... so hassle...

the requirements are

SSN
passport/visa, 1-94
marriage certificate (coz i used my married name)
