Well finally some good news for us. My husband will start his new job next Tuesday. ALAHUMDUHLA!! We have been waiting for this news for weeks now, and today it finally came.

I think we used his actual home address. I'm tyring to think if we ever used his work address (PO Box at Yarmouk University)? I don't think we did or if we did it was because they specified a mailing address somewhere. They never once actually sent him anything. When it was time to get his passport sent back, I know he did give aramex his University address.

ETA Ammar's home adress was one of those crazy non-street addresses as well, where basically it's like:
next closest city- village, quarter of village, municipality-center

No street, no corner, no nothing.

That's far to me! LOL. I'm so used to having a Post Office in every town/city I can't imagine driving all that way just to get my mail! I hate my 30 minute commute to work even!

No street addresses typically but they do something like: Al Hussein Street , Block 44, Building 6, etc...DHL and others can make deliveries to them...just regular mail is only to these PO Boxes.

That would be a dream address to have in Jordan it depends on the type of PO you have. Dh could get DHL, etc "to" his buit really what they do is call you from DHL when ti makes it to, say Irbid, and then you just go get it.

LOL! They have post offices in Amman, it's the largest city there with like 4?5? million people. I'm guessing he has his family pick up his mail at his PO in irbed for him and just never bothered to change PO boxes.

I always used my husband's street name when completing the forms. After I received the approval, I contacted NVC to give the P.O. Box number over the phone so that my husband would receive all correspondence at his P.O Box. It worked for me that way and never had a problem.

Man, you all were lucky your Dh's had an address with a street name! I think I would have felt a lot less nervous if he had a street name!

I am so bummed. Ibrahims interview letter came today. If he had stayed, we would have interviewed July 21 in Chicago. God I hope we did the right thing.

poor little pineapple.

I timed the appointment badly and she was both tired and hungry when we got there. they poked her finger for a blood sample to test for iron right when we got there and that set her off although the brightly colored bandaid they put on it absolutley mesmerized her. for a while. she was enraged by the shots and her face was about the same color as a plum, when I calmed her down she had a bottle and passed out in the car on the way home and ended up sleeping most of the afternoon. she just got up about half an hour ago and is pretty much whining and giving her sad face to anyone who looks at her, including the cats, but no tantrums yet. oooops I spoke too soon, here comes on now. good times, good times...

but hey! thanks for asking!

and by the way Jack I dont think I mentioned it yet but I really like that pic of you and Ibrahim under the tree. very cute !

Jackie, we used the p.o. box. I included what directions we could muster up for a home address but we attached it or something. He received some notification from the embassy but i can't remember what it was for. If he hadn't've had a po box, he prolly wouldn'ta gotten it.

My neck is killing me. It hurt so bad today that it escallated inito a back-of-the-head/temporal migraine and my jaws are now starting to ache. This sounds like us!!! I am so sneaky about turning the fan on when he is asleep and then I get up and turn it off. Sometimes he catches me, lol!!! I think it's like a game of tag but I can't stand this sweating at night!

Home with my kitty. I did a horrible thing to her.

She was hot yesterday and I took the scissors and tried to groom her. Well, I found out that not only can I mess up my own hair, I have to ability to wreck havoc on small animals too. I left her long fur around her face of course, but cut her body and oh my does my kitty look..........patchy. There will only be neck up shots of La Princessa for a few months.

not a big deal, in a month or two you won't even notice it. i cut my cat's hair several times a year and i intentionally cut it short in springtime so he's cooler during the summer. plus it helps keep down the number of mats he gets.

eta: if you find she's in need of getting a haircut several times a year, you may consider investing in some clippers for animals or just take her to a groomer.

Can't afford a groomer at this time and clippers? omg I would not want to be the one coming towards her with a buzzing object. I sure hope it grows out cuz she is looking really ...bad. lol. Ok...I will try to get a pic of how bad I messed up my cat. brb.
