Hello,
Is the Guidance and Couneling Seminar the only requirement for fiancees on k1 visa to take before getting passport stamp at CFO Office in Manila? Is PDOS seminar not required for fiancee visa holders? You only have to make reservations at CFO Office if you take PDOS Seminar?
thanks,

I think PDOS is for OFWs. I only attended the CFO seminar and we were all either K1 or K3 visa holders. No need to make reservations. They have a schedule though so better call the venue before you plan to attend.

Hi,
I attended the CFO Seminar/Counseling last May 16, 2008 here in Cebu and there were no reservation, you just have to be early. Yes it's a requirement for K1 and K3 Visa applicant.

Hello again,
Your fiance will only do the "registration" when she gets to the building (in Taft Avenue or other branch) where the Seminar or Guidance and Counseling being done. (Both the same).
There is ONE SEMINAR required by the CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) an agency under the Office of the President of the Philippines for fiance or spouse of foreign nationals, which is called the P/DOS (Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar-is a discussion of various topics such as travel regulations, immigration procedures, cultural differences, settlement concerns, employment and social security concerns, and rights and obligations of Filipino migrants. PDOS is conducted for departing emigrants to address their adjustment concerns in their destination countries) and done by the PRISM (People's Reform Initiative for Social Mobilization, Inc.) an additional service provider authorized by CFO that implement Guidance and Counseling Program that is required for Filipinos leaving the country or securing Philippine passports as spouses and [b]other partners of foreign nationals.
