Hello,

I've been lurking on these forums and firstly I want to say the information here is invaluable. I sent my DS-230 and it was entered to the system 5/21/08. I really was hoping for a quick case complete because of the speed at which the National Visa Center has been completing cases lately. Instead I found out today that I got a was issued a request for evidence on Friday. sad.gif

With my DS-230 Part I & II, I included 2 passport photos, a birth certificate, a marriage certificate, and the passport bio pages. Police certificates are unavailable for us (Sudan) as shown in the reciprocity page. I'm thinking the civil documents should be ok, should it must be a problem with the actual DS-230. Obviously I'm going to call an operator first thing Tuesday, but I can't sit and wait that long blush.gif

So I did a little searching and found a thread for a person that got a RFE for not answering a couple questions properly. They are:

2. Other Names Used or Aliases (If married woman, give maiden name)

We put N/A here, and I guess you can get an RFE for that. My wife doesn't take my last name in our culture. So what should we put here? Should we just repeat her full name?

20. List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin
with your present residence.

My wife only lived in one place since birth, so I just put that (Khartoum, Sudan) and put the month and year she turned 16. Unfortunately stupid acrobat wouldn't let me put PRESENT, and I forgot to write it in. I guess that's also something they'd have a problem with?

Other than that everything else was pretty straightforward.

We're really praying for a July interview here. I'm currently finishing up my bachelor's degree and I will be finished end of June. Our priority date is August 31st, 2007 so you can see how long we've been waiting. I heard interviews get scheduled up to the second week of the previous month? So I really feel like I need to get this taken care of ASAP.

A couple more questions

Do they send back the DS-230 and keep the civil documents? (I'm hoping they do cause they have super snail mail)

For anybody to dealt with a situation like this.. Egypt processes visas for Sudan (Sudan doesn't issue visas), so will they just send the documents and schedule the interview there? They say the consular officer goes to Sudan for interviews periodically, so is that something we'd have to arrange separately if we wanted to do that? (although we don't want to if it delays us)

Sorry for the long post! Thanks!
