My case was complete at the NVC on May 2nd. Should I get a letter in the mail from the NVC stating that the case is complete? Is the automated message "Case is complete" the last message?

I have changed the choice of agent in the middle of the process form the lawyer to me, which was accepted. I am concerned that they still sent the letter to the lawyer who will not rush to inform me. I have tried to call the NVC, but they always tell me to call later.

Question 2.)I have read other post where people have gone to the embassy to get packet 3 and 4. At my husband’s embassy, Lago Nigeria, the thread read he needed the petition approval notification (I130) and the letter from the NVC. What letter does he need from the NVC?

Thanks in advance for you assistance in this matter.

Have a fun filled long weekend!

Uhmm... have you called the NVC to find out what the status of the case is? After you hear the "case complete" auto message, it will change to "it has been forwarded to the embassy" but only after the appointment has been made. I'm not sure how the US embassy in Lagos works but the NVC might be waiting to see when they can schedule it with them.

In any case, you need to call the NVC and try to speak to a live rep to at least find out what is going on. The automated system is not very detailed and a live rep should be able to give you more info.

Thanks everyone! It was so exciting to hear that message on the NVC automated system.

I also wanted to let you all know that I emailed in RFE information on our DS230. The lawyer only filled out enough address on the form that fit. So he was mising a few years back to the age 16.
We also used email to change our designated agent.

So the NVC can be email friendly.
