Congratulations Rajaa!! So very happy for you. For CR1, the first thing I guess would be to wait for NVC to receive your petition. I would say about a week....in the meantime, have your ds3032 ready. After NVC case # is assigned and your AOS fee invoice and ds3032 form have been generated, pay the fee online and send in the ds3032 either via e-mail or mail. Also, in order to pay the AOS fee online you will need the IIN number (Invoice Identification Number) and am sure that you know you'll need to call NVC to get this number....Once again..congrats.......wishing you the best of luck with NVC's journey.....

Rajaa,
Ok, Just ignore the K3. Look at Lottos shortcuts for th eCR1. When it gets to the NVC, you can call the NVC to get the NVC case number. Also you can get the IIN number by talking to the operator, but I would suggest that you call at night, they seem to be more friendly and willing to give you the number.

Rajaa, dear.. NVC is a little slow sometimes with receiving stuff from USCIS.. ask LuLu!
but just keep calling.. as soon as they got it, call at night, maybe 1030 EST, 0730 PST, and ask for the IIN. just tell them you need it for your records.. as soon as that happens, sign in to the online payment and pay the AOS. if you have the hard copy of the DS-3032 ready, go ahead and mail it. you don't really have to express mail it.. i don't see the point. it will be a while for the bank to clear the AOS fee anyways. i suggest snail mail simply because it took my email 13 days to be received by NVC. had no choice really. didn't have the signed ds-3032 ready. i was about to mail it the other day, but when i called NVC again, they already received the choice of agent.
just paid my IV fee bill online. gonna wait a couple of days for that to clear then i'm gonna send the DS-230. i'm having a great time here with my hubby. we came back to where he proposed to me 1 year 5 months ago.
will send in the paperworks once we get back monday..

you have all the docs ready? Yeah got everything except my letter from my employer, waiting for them for the I864 and he sent me last monday from Spain the DS320. I didn't have him sign he choice of agent hard copy cause I was just going to email it from his account. Now I am a touch worried about that decision. So we are finished except do I need to send an original Birth certificate again??? when I read the doc needed it says "long version" of birth certificate I am assuming they mean his and not mine???? oy
Also just checking to make sure I know what's going on... the I864 bill is the $70.00 one and the AOS one is the $400 ish one right??? gotta make sure i have the money sitting there ready to go at a moments notice.
Jen I am glad you are having such a good time!!! you two deserve it!! just to let you knwo we still miiiiiiiisssss you! and yes they are sending VSC apps to CSC...

well, you could do just the emailing thing but it seems like normal mailing it is faster.. you are going to pursue the CR1, right? as soon as he gets the K3 interview, try to delay it, like Steve did..
we have to send our husband's birth certificate again, i think. well, it won't hurt anyway. i'm waiting for the IV fee bill to clear then when i get back from my mini vacation (within my vacation. hehe) will fedex the DS-230
yup, AOS is $70 and IV fee is $400. has your stuff arrived at NVC yet? once it has, just go ahead and email the DS-3032.

I'm here!!! Yes, my wife has her visa and we are heading back on Monday!!!!
Rajaa, it depends. If you just ignore the K3 and pursue the CR1, it will take you about a month to get through the NVC. Then they will set up the interview. I would guess that you could get an interview In November. Because, you should be done with the NVC mid to end September. Then the beginning of October they will schedule interviews for November.
The only reason for also fpllowing the K3 now, is to get the interview faster. But I don't think that you want that. Also, with the CR1, you can call the NVC and ask them about the possibility of getting it changed to a different embassy.
Good Luck!!!
We keep looking at her passport and still can't believe that it is done. And i am so glad that it is the CR1.

Also, with the CR1,
you can call the NVC and ask them about the possibility of getting it changed to a different embassy.Good Luck!!!
We keep looking at her passport and still can't believe that it is done. And i am so glad that it is the CR1.
that would be awesome (sorry the 80's coming out)
Was there no AP??? wow Steve that was lightening fast!!!

She must be so excited! give her a hugg from us May filers... she is the first of our spouses to make it to the states I believe???
I can't seem to fine the DS3032 to send to my husband so he can hard mail it??? i am told its better than email

rajaa,
google ds-3032 and download it online.

Rajaa, I would just go ahead and do the e-mail. Unless things have changed, you do not have a need for things to be done super fast anyways. But yes, I know you just want to be through the NVC.
But, my email did not take that long. As soon as your AOS fee shows invoiced on the NVC web site, go ahead and send the e-mail.

ok guys, i need some help and advise..as you know i am a CR-1 filer from VSC...u know how slow VSC is...many of u from CSC have had their application approved...i would like to raise a question regarding the 129F and I130. the reason why i dont want to do K3 is because i dont want to go through the hassle of adjustment of status when my wife comes to america...that doesnt mean i am ready to spend a day without her, its just that things seemed to have been moving the same with CR-1 and K3 about a month ago and now things appear to be different...so my question is, what if both I129 and I130 get approved at the same time, do i have the option of telling USCIS to go with CR-1 and not K3? how does that work?
rajaa and steve - i know u had similar situations...how are u proceeding with this?

I followed both paths. And now my wife got her CR1 visa about 6 weeks sooner than if we had just followed the CR1 path. Because we just had her interview, which was originally supposed to be a K3 interview. But our papers got to the embassy before the interview so it was changed to a CR1. Her CR1 interview was originally scheduled for September 23rd.

I am ignoring my K3 but we have a set of circumstances that require us to bide our time until Jan..09. And to see if we can transfer consulates which can only be done via cr1 if at all.
Good luck CMNB...if both get approved do what the cr1 says to do....

Hi ALL!!
for all CR1 vs K3 or both questions, pls direct them to STEVE, our resident expert in the field..
even if he can't fly here until febuary, Rajaa, doesn't the visa have a 6 month validity? go for CR1. much better in the long run. same to you, cmnb. try to schedule your K3 interview like 2 - 3 months after approval so that you can pursue CR1.
most of the time, both will be approved at the same time. then both will go to NVC but K3 will then be sent to the embassy right away while the CR1 will stay and stew for a while at NVC.

Jen I wish it would even GET to nvc !! not sure about the time line of the k3 visa i do know you have to do AOS quite quickly after they get here and then it's $1010 versus the CR1 at $400. Big difference for me right there.
So I got my letter from my employer... called for an operator last night and this morning but it keeps saying they're busy and the automated system says it's not there yet... been @ 13 days now.

OK got through to an operator and it's still not there they said 2-4 weeks sooooooo i am waiting. Good news Steve you were right! I asked if we can move the consulates going CR1 she (Diana the operator at NVC) said i need to submit proof he is residing there to NVC. Now this poses another question... on his DS230 should i put his new address in Spain now or still morocco?

Strange thing is i just went to the mailbox and got a hard copy it says (remember i want the cr1) not sure what it means... "Dear petitioner: The state Department's National Visa Center has recently received an apporved I-129 petition filed on behalf of your spouse. This letter is to let you know that wihin a week the petition will be forwarded to the visa-issue-post overseas that is responsible for processing visa cases originating n the country where you were married.
your spouse will soon receive a packet with instructions from th consular sectio on how to apply forthe K3 visa at that post and what documents will be required. For further information on the K3 visa process blah blah blah
What do you think??? but they can't fin my CR1?????

Speak to an operator on the 129F. See what happened to it. Maybe they sent that letter to you by mistake?
