Thanks you two I sent him the list of three things I need him to do.... hopefully i won't confuse him to much... I am going to check the Spainish consulate and ask to see if he can interview there... much better place than morocco but he doesn't speak Spanish just English, French and Arabic... not sure if that'll be a problem if he is in the U.S. consulate in Spain????

yesterday i just said to myself that some really big truck is passing, then when it wouldn't stop shaking and rolling, i started getting nauseated and decided it was indeed a REAL earthquake!
i live on top of the San Andreas fault. in fact, if you drive by the 14 freeway, you can actually see the faultline. you pass through it.. weird, i know.. but for somebody who lives on top of the San Andreas fault, you would think that we would have some huge earthquakes, but we actually don't. most of the big earthquakes felt are farther out. but last big one i heard was back in 1999 in the Mojave desert. 7.1 i think. i don't remember that. where the heck was i?
I got so used to them, I would just say "Oh, another earthquake".
A year ago, I moved to Seattle from San Francisco. We would get them all of the time, it was normal. In Fact, I was in San Francisco in 1989 when they had the big one there during the World Series. I had just came out of the shower, so I was standing there naked thinking what should I do. Do I stand there or run out of my apartment naked? I just sttod there.

oh my gosh, DUH! of course i can send it in myself! i don't know why i kept thinking it has to come from my address over there.. my brain is soo tired.. thanks for pointing that out!
it is quite expensive to send it fedex though.. about $30 and it will take 3 days. it's not a P.O. box, is it? because if it is, then my sister has to send it USPS
i have read about the whole auto response too but nothing seems to solve my problem. you got an auto response, right?QUOTE(Steve Y Jessica @ Jul 30 2008, 08:12 AM)

Have him get the same documents for himself to have available there while you have time to gather them. He should be taking those to the consulate as backup if you only decide to pursue CR1. If K3, then he has to send them to consulate anyways. Most of your questions are answered in Loto's guide. You haven't been reading it have you?!?!

i think i might have to do just that. i tried before already but was confused on how to paste the barcode. according to James, the case number should be written where the barcode strip should be.. but then where the heck do you put the generated barcode then if you wrote the number on it's spot already?

To be on the safe side, I emailed the DS-3032 and had my husband post the form as soon as we saw the AOS fee bill was generated. I received an auto response from NVC when I sent the email. They received the DS-3032 (do not know which one) within a day and soon the AVR said that they have received it. I think its always safe to try both ways. What the heck...would just cost you the postage...but save you from the trouble later in general.
As for the barcode, after the introduction of the online system, the James' Shortcut has become obsolete. Besides, I do not know how hubby managed to produce those barcodes last time we were at NVC. I think the ONLINE paying and printing system is less hassle.

the directions to generate the bar code are on the james shortcut. but what doesnt make sense is that why would you write your case number and then stick the bar code over it?!?!?!
Jen - Sara did the right thing by mailing the DS-3032 as well as sending an email. Even if you dont want to send that form in the mail, still have it signed from your husband, just in case there may be a problem. Basically you wanna cover all bases.

!! Jen, I had given husband several signed copies of DS-3032 a few months ago so he used one of those. He used the James shortcut to create the barcode (I just found out), pasted the barcode there with glue stick and it was ready. He used the james shortcut for producing the barcode. I just tried creating one and it doesn't seem difficult. please try it:

KAHM, if you go to a few older posts in this thread, you'll find the CR-1 Guide by Lotsofpatience as mentioned by CMNB. Also, in our experience, my husband had called NVC about three days after the case was transfered to NVC and found out the IIN. Once he got that, he checked if the AOS fee bill was generated and it was invoiced so he told me to e-mail the DS-3032, he paid online the AOS fee bill and then went out and posted the DS-3032 to NVC. The AVR by the way had not changed. Then Next day the AVR changed to the AOS fee bill being paid and the next day to that they acknowledged our DS-3032. KNow that till now I have not receieved any email from NVC regarding the Choice of Agent and Address so I believe they have accepted the form in post. Hope this helps.
Sara.

KAHM! it finally arrived, eh? good! now you can just fly by NVC if everything is done in order..
ok, here's my story. my case arrived at NVC 7/25. after that, day after day after day i called and called. Same message: that my case has been entered into their system July 25, blah blah blah.. i was getting annoyed. I wanted to know if my AOS fee bill or my DS-3032 (choice of agent was generated.)
Well, July 29, i called NVC to see if they can give me my IIN (invoice identification number.) Wanted to see if my AOS was invoiced cuz i heard you can see this on that online payment site. 1st try during the afternoon EST, lady didn't want to give it to me. said that i should wait for the bill and that it takes weeks. WATEVER. 2nd try, i called 1130 pm EST. Bingo! lady didn't hesitate to give me the IIN. as soon as i got it, i immediately went to the website. saw that the AOS bill status was: NOT PAID. so i went ahead and paid it using my checking account. after i hit submit, status changed to IN PROCESS. tried emailing the DS-3032 at this time. no such luck. couldn't get a automated response.
July 30, tried again by forwarding from his email to mine. dumb yahoo acct. still no replies. so i gave up. AOS fee still IN PROCESS. AVR did change to "received AOS fee bill on July 30. Please wait a few weeks for NVC send blah blah blah."
July 31, AOS status now PAID. AVR still says they received the bill on July 30. Money not debited from my bank yet. Immediately printed out AOS barcode but i was too sleepy to send it! hehe.. Tried emailing again. Still no automated reply. sheesh. So i got the idea from ninjarocket to maybe use my work email since they might think the yahoo email is spam. so i forwarded it to my work. when i got to work, i then forwarded the DS-3032 to NVC with no automated response! but i got this funky email that the message was sensitive.. i dont get it..
Aug 1, here i am at work. decided that yahoo email sucks. according to Steve, when he used his GMAIL account, he got response right away. so i made an account for my husband. sent in the DS-3032, and behold! AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE!!! yessss!!!! will mail the AOS package USPS express when i get off work.
KAHM, i sent the DS-3032 when the AOS fee was invoiced. But i never got the AVR statement of "DS-3032 and the AOS fee was generated on ....." I basically got my IIN from the operater, went to the website, saw the the AOS was invoiced "generated," then emailed the DS-3032. use GMAIL if i were you.
Haven't gotten the AOS package either and i'm not sure if i ever will since i paid online but i'm going to send it since i have the official barcode from them already.
Hope this long story helps!

Jenn, I am happy that everything is now working for you. By chance, did you check your spam folder in yahoo?
But I would not also send in the hard copy. You got the auto response, you do not want to confuse them. I no it is not easy waiting, but just relax!!!!
Well last week, I emailed the embassy and explaind them my situation. That we had a K3 interview on August 14th and our CR1 case was now complete at the NVC. And would it be possible to change that interview to a CR1 interview. Well yesterday the replied to me that they contacted the NVC and told them to expidite my file to the embassy, and they let me know that it shipped on Wednesday and they would let me know when they receive it.
But now my wife is in a panic again. She thinks that Cr1 interview is going to be more difficult than the K3 intervirew because it is for a PR visa. I try to tell her that there is no difference.

I try to tell her that there is no difference.
just got home.. had to swing by the post office to mail the AOS. Steve, your wife is too cute! hehehe.. but i can understand how she feels though. 'specially since our spouses really don't divulge themselves into this world so they really don't know the minor differences, etc. i have been explaining this whole process to my husband a billion times and i don't think he gets it at all.. but that's ok. in our partnership, i'm the one in charge of details and i just tell him that this needs to be done and we need to go here, etc. and it works.. that is so cool that you were able to change it to CR1.. good job on that one!
i checked every nook and cranny of my yahoo account. nothing. i checked his too. nada. i probably will forget about the waiting for the DS-3032 while i'm over there. i will be on vacation so that might be the last thing on my mind.. I HOPE!

I HOPE! The hardest thing is trying to talk about the Visa process or her pregnancy. We have no problem communicating. We talk for about 2 hours at least every other night, and lately every night. But the problem is that I do not know the spanish words for legal or medical terms and she does not know then in english. So there is confussion at times.
I will be leaving to go to Buenos Aires on August 9th. 8 days, 21 hours 50 minutes and we will finally be together for always!!!!!

Thank you so much for your input. It's more clear now. I was a little uncertain about when to start with the first step from Loto's guidelines. I called NVC today and the AVR states that my case was entered into NVC system on July 29th and wait six to eight weeks for the beneficiary to be notified. I'll call NVC later on today and try to get the IIN. Hopefully, they'll give it me so that I could proceed...
thirdsjen,
I know you're having a hard time with getting an automated response for your ds3032 e-mail but I hope everything works out before you go on vacation so that you could relax and not worry too much about NVC.......

I called NVC and managed to get my IIN. The NVC Operator hesitated first and asked if I was going to make a payment, I told him that I just needed it for my reference. I logged to the NVC website and the AOS fee was invoiced. Just got done paying the $70 on line. The current status is In Process..........

My husband has a 'yahoo' e-mail account and he was not successful with getting an auto reply from NVC for ds3032. He then forwarded the e-mail to me. I sent it from my hotmail.com account and received an auto reply within seconds. Now I'll wait until next week for any progress......

alright KAHM! you might make it out of NVC before me!
yahoo, it appears, does not seem to be the preferred email account of NVC. so ya'll.. just set up other accounts to send your DS-3032. Sent his with GMAIL.. and definitely don't tell the operator that you are going to pay online.. haha! they don't want you doing that at all! glad you manage to get your IIN, KAHM!
by monday the status might change to PAID then you can go ahead and print out your barcode and send in your AOS package. then the waiting begins for them to receive your DS-3032. as soon as they've received that, your IV fee will be invoiced. at least that's how i understand it..

i really want to be there for the interview then leave with him.. but how to ask my supervisor is the problem.. crap. i have already taken waay too much vacation time this year. i'm surprise i still have my job!
but then i haven't researched how the manila embassy sets up the interviews.. it might take 2 months..
i'm in the middle of packing.. do you think it's necessary for me to bring his old letters to me while we were dating years ago? aren't we just suppose to prove MARRIAGE?

I think any evidence related to you both would be useful. Our courtship too lasted about 2 years so I am getting letters, chat sessions and saved screens with web cam imagines as proof. But then again, my story could be different from yours. you both have roots in Philipines. My husband is a half palestinian half caucasian married to a pakistani....so we will be needing all the proof there is ...or so it seems...hmmm
Also, needed to warn you guys...we paid the IV Bill after the DS-3032 had entered the system and the Bill had been invoiced on the 31st. Then it showed IN PROCESS. Now the AVR updated on the 1st and the message was about the IV bill has been generated and on the website...the status went back to NOT PAID

. I do not know what will happen from here as I have not been able to speak to Zayd since last night but its weird. He did say he will speak to someone at NVC. I just hope they don't charge this bill twice. I have already been a really very Expensive Wife

Just wanted to inform you all on this latest development.
