WE got our NOA1 today but the notice date was May 23rd. Whooo hoooo now it begins.
Whoa, we are almost identical. I saw that the notice said the 23 and your check was cashed on the 27th. That is the same as me for the I130!

Hello May Filers! I am really excited when I write this and I think it is because we are all right about the same time in all of this. I will give you a little information about us. I met my hubby in August of 2005 while playing ffxi online. We became friends and eventually it progressed into more. He came to visit me in July of 2006 and gave me a ring. He and I were married here in Colorado on March 15, 2007. We didn't know all the ins and outs of how the immigrations stuff worked. So we really are behind in getting this ball running. The last day I saw my husband was March 29th, 2008 and we are supposed to have my baby taken by a scheduled c-section around August 19th. I sent my I130, but I sent it to Nebraska and I was supposed to send it to the Chicago lock box. SO I lost about 10 days there as you can see in my signature. I express mailed the I 130 to the Chicago lockbox on May 20 and they dated the NOA1 May 23, 2008 and I express mailed my I129F to the California Service Center on May 28 and they dated my NOA1 for the I129F for May 30. I am hoping and praying that there will be a quick turn around time for all of this and it is all approved, but I am tickled there is a thread for us to all keep up and in touch with other May filers!

Hi thirdsjen,
i tried to read the endorsment part of the check this morning to see if i can get my receipt number but it was really hard to read. i was trying to figure out a number that looked like a 2 and then 7 and sometimes looked like a Z. i gave up in the morning having a little satisfaction that my check was cashed. like i have said before, never in my life have i been so happy making a payment to someone

...later during the day, i thought of giving this another shot....and luckily got in and created an account on the website...anyway, to make the long story short, my receipt was mailed out yesterday and the check cashed today. i am hoping to recieve the hard copy of NOA1 end of this week or early next week.
i have a question though, i see that a lot of you write "touched" on your timeline. is that how it appears on the website when you check the status?
also, want to welcome makaha and shiri to the forum...this is a great forum to be hooked on to...we have had very informative discussions in the past so even if you are not sure about the process (just like me) all the nice people here will be happy to help and provide feedback....especially for you shiri, i hope your baby brings in a lot of luck for you (maybe a little bit for all of us too

)and i hope you get to see your husband very soon..
Cheers!

everytime the date under the UPDATED column changes, that means it was "touched." But you need your case number first in order to see anything, cmnb. well, just wait for your NOA1 then find it on the USCIS website, add it to your portfolio and see what the last UPDATED date is..
congrats on your baby, shiri.. babies are always blessings

Guys just wondering...is a 'falling apart' marriage grounds for filing for an expedite with the USCIS?

Rajaa while on the one hand its comforting to know that I am not the only one going through that feeling of sadness and on the other it seems like a long..long...really long time since things have moved in any direction for me. Your path has changed from mine now as you've sent your I-129F. I had checked the K-3 timelines in my country and it all sucks...especially this Administrative Process threat. Now it sure seems like a huge test of nerves and when you too young to be patient, it gets worse. Allaah knows. I do not know how to deal with this process anymore to be honest. Sorry everyone else, I do not mean to bring you down with this post but I am getting impatient now
A good friend here applied for her H-4 visa which a non-immigrant visa for the spouse of the person having an H-1 (working visa) and she had her interview back in February. They sent her back with a blue slip asking for more documents and the embassy has kept her passport. Since then she hasn't heard from the Consular officer and when she called the embassy she was informed that they have not reached a decision yet. Its frightful.

S_AL_ - folks here have always been very supporting and they are the ones who could best relate to you. i would suggest talking to someone who has done K-3/CR-1 process from pakistan recently and see what they have to provide to you as feedback. i am just a little skeptical about the timelines that VJ offers. i am not sure what the source of this information is. but....just hang in there....things will move on..
here are my timelines:
05/27/08-sent I-130 packet to chicago lockbox
05/29/08 - received in Chiacago
06/09/08 - check cashed, case recieved an pending, and was able to view case online
06/10/08 - case updated
06/11/08 - case updated
06/12/08 - case updated
xx/xx/xx - received hard copy of NOA1
i am not sure if the date that displays in the "last updated" column is the same as what a lot of people call "touched"? can anyone please clarify...thanks.

CMNB I really appreciate your post. Sadly I do not know anyone else going through this immigration process here. Those who are at the forum are hard to locate. Most are stuck in AP and others have already gone through it or waiting for approval.
You can shift your timeline to the 'signature' section on the MY CONTROL page. Then your timeline will appear like the rest of us. You can adjust font size and color there and update it accordingly.
Yes the change in date under the Last Updated part is what one refers to as a touch. Now that your check has just been cashed, they are probably shifting your petition to your service center. All the best to you and everyone else.
Regards,
Sara.

You know I do have a friend that married and brought over her Pakastani husband.. it took quite a while.. the first thing she said to me is "file the I129f right away" she said she wished she would've done it earlier.. I am not joking my sister this is something she struggled with (and i with her the last months). They too were stuck in AP and he was from the mountians in a very small village.....
Sorry... to add to all of the frustration is I sent my I 129F 7 days ago and nothing yet... i know its still "normal" timelines but i got my I130 approved it 3 days... why so long for this one??
Also, my husband only took a week to get his interview for work at the Spainish consulate... he went today with his medical reports and contract and they said to come back next week for his visa???? WTF!!!!!!!! Spain can do that on a dime but the U.S. takes years???? what's the F*%king deal?
Sorry you guys I know it's inappropriate for me to behave like this but really what can we do... class action law suit? and I've only been in this a month.

Rajaa don't lose hope. Trust me you are not alone in this. For me and my husband its been a long and frustrating journey....but then again we are not alone in this. I just read a heartbreaking post by a sister on this forum and how she was repeatedly denied an expedite even though her case was serious. Then I read her husband has received his visa last week and that has brighten up my morning a bit now. I am the beneficiary Rajaa. My husband is the USC. The research so far has showed that the AP is tougher for men from muslim countries than women. PK sadly is on that list too.

Sorry kid. Maybe they will pull a Red Sox miracle out and do the "Never been done before". I cannot believe that Pierce can actually play the way he has. He broke many a Jayhawk heart two of the three years he was at Lawrence. I think it was more Roy, but that is another story. I guess that some maturity finally set in. It looks like the Lakers are a year too soon. Look out for the future with your boys. You may be too young to remember the '80's/'90's Pistons and Bulls. Had to lose to the eventual champion the year before they went on a run.
Congratualtions to cmnb. Glad to see that you are on the board. I too was one of the many touches in one week. Thought I was in the Divinyls for awhile.

Yeah I agree with you, please don’t be sad and do not get depressed, don’t let this waiting time destroy our lives. We all are in the same boat we wait and wait, but to sit in front of the internet and wait on a email from the Service Centers its not what I want to use my time too, it’s to much sadness with that. I try to make be busy with work, sporting and good company with friends. Right now, we Europeans can follow the football at TV (my husband are sometimes more Swedish than me now!!) and enjoy the beauty summer season we have.
My husband and I are always trying to plan for dates when we meet. This time we both travel to Philippines for 2 weeks vacation, that was the place there we had meet each other the first time. This is our second honeymoon we are going to celebrate. When I come back to Europe in the July, I hope to see someone of you approved.
Good luck to everyone

plus, my brother tapes every laker championship..Sorry, didn't mean to step on toes with any age reference. Not a fan of Boston, love Doc though. He was what players should be today. In the day, I was a Sixer fan. '82/'83 best single season champion that never gets talked about. They won 60 games, went 12-1 in the playoffs and had the most gifted athelete, prior to his Airness. Moses, Andrew Toney, Bobby Jones, Mo Cheeks, and the good Doctor, they actually played team ball.
I did what I could to not visit here and CFL this week as much as in previous weeks, too many sad tales, too many in much worse shape than I am. The only thing I am depressed/pissed about is that we were shuffled between para's for almost four months before the I-130 was filed. One of my favorite quotes is "The internet, not just for porn anymore". I used it to find an attorney but not these resources, hindsight.

Yes, thank you for that. I have a question which you may or may not see soon, but is this touch you got on the 11th just them filing our stuff? I have had two touches. Once on the 6th of June and once on the 9th of June. I am hoping that the NOA2 will be this upcoming week or the next. I am hoping my dates are close to those on the spreadsheet, somewhere between 15 and 24... but ultimately I just would like to be approved and be able to live side by side with my husband. It is hard to be separated from our spouses. I haven't seen my husband since March 29, 2008 and it's been rough. I have wondered about the expedite thing especially since we have a baby on the way. Hang in there. I hope and pray that the journey will be an expedited one even if we haven't filed for it. (Meaning I hope and pray the processing is done quickly for us so we can be reunited with our loved ones.) My husband and I had a civil ceremony for our marriage in March of 2007 and I am thinking when all this immigration stuff is done, that I would like to have another ceremony with his family. I know it's been over a year, so do you think that is understandable or a little silly??

Like what???
I went with K3 cause it seems to be going faster and more easily than the CR1 for my husband's country

As a k3 survivor I know too well the issues if they come on that visa. I used to call it the kouch visa. It takes 3 months for EAD and then the whole AOS interview here just to then get a 2 year card.
If he comes on the CR1..he can work sooner and we will be done til it is time to lift conditions. Pros and cons for both.

It's June 15th. The Service Centers will update their processing times based on today. It is also Father's Day, Happy Father's Day to all dads. Any guessing when the new PTD will be? I am going with December 17th for CSC.
As for the Jordanian question of to K-3 or not to K-3, just a cursory look at both in VJ's timelines with all service centers available, does not seem to be a huge difference. Couple of very long timelines, also some short ones, so discount those as outliers and they both seem to be running around 11 months.
Decision has to be yours alone. My 1.38RMB says stay as IR/CR.
Here come the Lakers!

Well, looking at the VJ timelines. I looks like K3's are getting approved faster than stand alone I-130's. So it looks like you would save a month or maybe two by going with the K3.
Also, when they approve the ai-129F, they also approve the I-130 and send both to the NVC. So then you can also persue the I-130. I am doing both, thinking that the I-130 will be complete before my interview for the K3. Using the online payments and shortcuts, people have been getting through the NVC in an average of about 4 weeks.

I hear yeah though on the "couch visa" but we plan on him taking classes and playing soccer with the local teams to take his time up. plus the whole getting used to the U.S. thing will help. I've got a bunch of friends with MENA husbands that will keep him busy with Masjiid buisniess too.. hehe insha'allah

belated HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dad's out there! Hi just_Jackie! for me, the K3 seem to be faster than the CR1 in my husband's country but there's drama involved so the I-129F is on hold for now.. (it's all ready to go and everything!)
so, how 'bout them Lakers, eh?
i say, there's a game 7 but boston is going to take it.. BUT, boston is an "older" team so maybe they're tired now.. hehehe.. i hope they are tired. i want this to be an UPSET!!
