totally agree with you there.. that's another reason why my I-129F still hasn't been mailed.. so little data for the PHILIPPINES though..

Same boat with you Thirdsjen... to file or not to file.... i've already got my NAO1 for the I130 but it looks like for the I129f we just copy the same things we sent in before? And we don't have to pay the money (until later if it goes k3) uugghhhh
cmnb
if i am not mistaken, thindsjen you are maintaining the spreadsheet? i have a suggestion. could you please add another column for the counsalate/embassy that we are dealing with. i dont know if that would be too much of personal info but i just feel that it would help others if they are filing from the same place...what do you think?

i'm bone tired. just want to sleep, but all these k3 approvals won't let me sleep! darn you! after hearing all the recent approvals, now my husband wants to file the k3. we so change our mind a lot! do you all think that if we file for k3 now that it is too late?

wacko.gif [/color][/b]

Stay the course kid. I chose to go K-3 due to the processing times I pulled from here and CFL. The K-3 seem to get through the consulate a little quicker than the CR/IR-1's at Guangzhou.

I'm a numbers freak and also have sleep issues. I ran the number of K-3's that were at NVC stage last weekend. Of the first 102 approved petitions, 94 of them had the same 129F and 130 approval dates. One more had only one day difference. Not as high a ratio this weekend on the first couple of pages but after about page three it starts to repeat that both are being approved same time.

Sorry the wife finally calling back, gotta go
Longbranch
To quote Kramer when he was using the old set of the Merv Griffin show "..and we're back".

Thirdsjen, I may have been a little too quick with some statements earlier. If you were to look at your specific case as I did prior to losing the first draft of this, you may want to research this yourself. By filtering the K-3 and CR/IR-1 data by CSC and Philipines some interesting trends start to standout. The data I used has changed already as people are constantly updating their timelines.

The first 20 K-3 petitions that had an NOA-2 date filled in, produced 19 couples that had both 129F and 130 approval dates the same. Of these, 17 had/have an interview scheduled. The average from initial filing to interview was 239 days.

The first 25 CR/IR petitions with an approved petition, NOA-2 date, had only 9 couples with an interview date. The average time for these couples from filing to interview was 0.3333 days over one year (365.3333). I know for you anal people out there with the leap year that it is actually 366 days this year.

Straight number crunching, no outliers, no standard deviations, just simple averages. I hope that anyone does not take this for anything other than what it is, a small piece of info at one specific time.

One more thing thirdsjen, ever wonder if all the people in Laguna Niguel are all Clipper fans?

hi Longbranch! I have done that timeline search over and over. I keep coming up with the same thing. K3 are getting through faster in Manila than CR1.. so why the heck have i still not filed? don't know. indecision. one of my weaknessess..

but thank you so much for your input! i just need assurances, that's all.. haha.. insecure too! i'll file the K3 monday. everything in the Philippines just takes a little bit more time than the usual. don't know.. the culture maybe.. look at me.. i take my time! wacko.gif

Give me a hint on how to look for those numbers.... we're having to go through casablanca morocco consolate (not great I know) and we're out of CSC????? do I go to the USCIS website or just use VJ's timelines????
S_AL_
Rajaa what I did was I went to Portals that directed me straight to 'Pakistan' and there I found timelines and all other people from my country. Clicking on Portals should direct you straight to Morocco. Hope this helps.

One sad fact I came across is that no matter how swift the Process for both K-3 and CR1/IR1 goes at USCIS and NVC, I found out that people (some even from 2006) are waiting after their Interview for clearance aka Administrative Process to come to an end. I am really freaked out since no matter which way one goes, if you are meant to rot without your loved one, the immigration people will make sure that happens. It should vary for other countries but unfortunately for my country (I am the beneficiary), they are grilling almost everyone. Some went on AP right from USCIS after approval. I am sure every individual is viewed as a separate case and the scrutiny is strict for men than women but still two people are awaiting clearance for their wives...both on K-3. Finally the whole Immigration Process is getting to my head headbonk.gif and since yesterday I have been pretty low. I guess the Immigration people don't realise this. If only things were better sad.gif like they were before 9/11... sad.gif

After reading these posts, even I'm becoming double minded about whether I should stay with CR1 or go the K3 route..

hi everybody! was gonna mail the I-129F today, but guess what? it's going to be put on hold again.. AGAIN! back in '04, hubby only had 3 or 4 major subjects then he could graduate with a bachelor's in public administration. but, like the service centers here in the united states, put all of that on hold. SO NOW THAT HE IS ALMOST HERE, he decided to finish that stupid thing!!! so if I send the k3 and we get approved, how is he to finish the degree?? we have to stay with CR1!!! but he told me he'll let me know later in the day what route we are definitely going with..

he is as indecisive as me!!

If he only has 3 or 4 more subjects, he could just wait and finish it here in the United States. If he has been waiting since 04 to make this decision, what is a little longer. But if hewants to finish it there, the CR1 is probably better for you.

he really wasn't waiting. he just got tired of it and did a whole bunch of other things.. but the consulate is in Manila. things take forever there.. so maybe we still have time even if I file for K3. average for K3 is like 200 something days.. CR1 is 355 plus days..

uuugghhh you will not believe this... or you will who knows, but I haven't been getting my mail lately??? I live in an appartment complex and haven't been getting any mail??? I don't think it's been stolen my net flix just has been sent back. I left a note in the box for my postal person cause i didn't want to miss out on my new social security care (married name) and passport AND the tax transcripts... so now you're saying 3 days??? I haven't gotten mail in a week?????

I sooooo am having issues these days
Rajaa_Reda
Ok.. so I did what you guys suggested and looked at the consulate in Morocco based on the "portal" time lines and CSC's. So get this... the last CR1 app that got approved since early 2007 is a case that was filed 5/31/2007 and they just got their interview for 6/25/2008.

I have to say this.... I 've got the I129f already now... the time lines (and alot more data) that are still waiting but they're looking @ 9 months instead over a year??? Plus.. if i send the I129f and the CR1 gets approved than no worries....if the K3 goes faster than... no worries. I don't think I have anything to lose right now.

I'll let you know.

Hi cmnb,

You can also compare the Immigration Timelines for K3 and CR1.
Click on 'Immigration Timelines from the top of the page, and then select Statistics.
You can view the stats for K3 visas and CR1 visas. Scroll down to India and then to your Embassy. Hope this helps.

Hi,

Our I130 was received on 5/11 at Chicago Lock Box (on Sunday) and the notice date on the I-797C is 5/16. The hard copy of NOA1 was received in mail on 5/19. It took seven days to have the hard copy of NOA1 in hand and this is including the two weekends (4 days). If your petition is with CSC, you may receive your NOA1 by end of this week and am not sure about the other Service Centers.

Also, for K3, you can look over the guidelines for filing I129f. I believe it's only I129f form that needs to be submitted without any additional proof or fees. A link to the guidelines has been posted in one of the above posts....

I guess that I will start giving my info, as I am a May filer. I got my first NOA1 on May 9. I am an I-129f filer at VSC. Things are looking better now than they have the past 4 years, timewise. I have been dating Ukranian girls, looking for the right one. What a journey. At times I feel like an expert on international travel and immigration. My passport has been stamped more than Paris Hilton's ###. One of my friends is thinking of getting engaged to a girl from Belarus. I travel to Ukraine every 3 months to see my fiancee. We had a wedding ceremony on May 10th for her family. What a party. The vodka flowed heavy. I had to stay straight, not unlike New Years there. Never, ever think that you can out-drink a Ukranian. I have grown tired of all of the travel and look forward to her being stateside. I will still visit 2 or 3 times a year, but I will wake up next to her the when I am stateside too. The embassy in Kiev seems to have their crap together and if we are lucky and Vermont keeps it up, we could possibly have the interview in August. I have told Julia that it could be Sept. or Oct. I do not want to get her hopes up. Too bad our goverment officials do not work like the ones in Ukraine. A couple hundred Hgrivna and I could have it all done in a week. The price we pay for living here. Here is to good luck for everyone on their journey, and hopefully no speed bumps in the road, especially me.

hahaha.. i want to say Lakers in 4 but I'll go with Lakers in 5.. just want the month of June to go by a little faster.. IT STARTS TOMORROW!!! and i'm off! even better!!

I will be in the Philippines around the start of the Olympics.. so close yet so far away.. no way can I see the Olympics. Too expensive! i've always wanted to go to China. don't know why I haven't. Hong Kong doesn't count. Did you know my grandma climb the Great Wall 2 years ago and I haven't?? ridiculous..

I guess that in the big circle of life it truely is ironic. I have always wanted to go to Bataan but never have. I am still hopeful that we will get to see many shots of Bill Walton and his current wife. Just makes me laugh every time they are on camera.

Hong Kong definately counts as a classic party spot though. A little Jim Rome "Classic".

Welcome to May filers.... I love the Paris Hilton's ##s comment.. lol. I had to send my passport in to get my name change. I really felt sad cause it had all my stamps in it. And I feel a little naked without it. Weird whistling.gif

Oh and yeah... sent the I129f today... insha'allah things will pick up for us.

hi guys,

i think i have made a tiny mistake on my form I-130. i dont know if this is a tiny mistake or a blunder. on question 17, i listed none instead of writing my name as the husband. do you think that would cause an issue?

i am worried :-(

That's a weird one. Yes it might cause an RFE...maybe under the category of incomplete form.

You have not received the NOA1 yet? I should be a little suspicious if I were you. I think you should call USCIS and speak to someone there. Tell them your problem and ask them what is to be done now.
I don't trust the USCIS and the RFEs to be honest. We had filed our petition back in January and then found out that we had not included a marriage license. Even though we had registered our marriage but then the USCIS did not send an RFE and here we are...refiling the whole case and waiting for the fugly NOA2. Check with USCIS please.

you know, its really weird. i had sent in the application on tuesday last week. the USPS website does indicate that the application was received on thursday last week. i had opted for a return receipt which i never recieved till date. the check hasnt been cashed. so i dont have a case number or anything. its starting to worry me now as i am seeing others getting their NOA1s in like 3 days or 5 days and here i am waiting for a week. i would rather correct my mistake and send in the corrected form now then to find out later and get my case delayed for months.

Question 17 (Information about your alien relative (continued)) if you are the petitioner (husband) than you should put your wife name here and not yours. In my opinion if you put your name here then i think the beneficiary name on NOA1 would be your and not your wife. I mentioned it my earlier post about this typo on a vj sample I-130. Some people have mentioned that the beneficiary name on NOA1 were reversed. I think it is due to the fact that they followed vj sample I-130.

I was about to make this mistake too but upon a close scrutiny I read "Information about your alien relative (continued) several times to clear my reasoning that it is about beneficiary and not about the petitioner information.

My advise is to give 15 days for NOA1 to arrive and see who the beneficiary is. And stop worrying it does not solve any things. Keep yourself calm and explore your options.

Sorry to hear about your case.

did the same thing.. put "NONE" there too. my NOA1 notice date was 13 days after.. so don't worry about it. but then in the back of my mind there is that nagging thought that maybe i should have put something there?? crap.. didn't follow the VJ guide as i didn't know about VJ then..

im in a bad mood.. the Lakers lost... mad.gif

Mindmaster,

I believe you are wrong. It clearly states : 17. List husband/wife and all children of your relative.

Or else, Since the PETITIONER is the one filling out this form, That question is asking for the husband/wife and all children of the relative of the petitioner.

So in conclusion, here you should put the petitioners name as wife or husband and all children of the beneficiary.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

That question number and half of the second page of the I-130 is a continuation of Section "C" Information on your alien relative....in our cases the beneficiary. In a sense they are asking for information on the beneficiary who you identified as the alien relative on page one Section C, Question #1. So for "US" filing for our spouses, it's asking who is the husband/wife of your spouse? When I answered this questions I put my first middle last names followed by "(the petitioner)" and then the other information. She doesn't have children so only my informaiton was there.

i called USCIS this morning to find out why i havent still received NOA1. they said i should allow atleast 30 days for processing. i also asked them about question 17 and got the response that my name should have appeared there. the lady on the phone said that me ommiting or making an error on this information would not cause an issue but if it was an issue i would be contacted regarding the error. i told her that i would rather do things correctly at this time rather than going 2-3 months down the road and causing problems for myself. she agreed. i asked if i should send in a letter stating the error and requesting a fix. she said i could do that too.

although she did not quite make any suggestions but i pose this question to the forum. should i:

1. forget about the error and only worry about it if contacted by USCIS
2. send in a new I-130 application form with the fix
3. just send a letter outlining the error, and apologize for the mistake

please advise.

Thanks for your input everyone....
