Just wondered how many of us are either a Cat or a Dog person

Also the numbers who don't have pets or unusual ones

We have 2 cats and are totally cat people - they are our kids

I love my cat.
He has been with me for 16 years now, it sure is hard seeing him aging and wondering when that fateful day will come that I will have to be the responsible pet owner and do the final deed. But, for now he's sweet, lovable and he's always there when I come home from work...

Awww bless We get so attached to them and it is heartbreaking when this time comes. I lost a cat after nearly 14 years, 2 years ago and I still miss him every now and then.

We have two cats, and lately I'm really wanting a dog. But our apartment complex has a two-pet limit, so no dog 'til we buy a house.

Growing up we always had 1-2 cats and a dog. No one in New Jersey has a dog unless they have a house (because apartments won't take them; heck, it was hard enough finding one that would take two cats) and no one can afford a house; but here most people have houses and most apartment complexes allow dogs anyway. My current apartment complex bans certain large breeds (rotties, dobies, German Shepherds, and IIRC also huskies and malamutes) and mixes but that's more than most complexes around here do. And we have a designated dog-poop yard (which, besides being marked, has a dispenser for plastic bags!).

3 beautiful Burmese cats. I've always had cats ever since I was a baby. They are currently living with my parents in England, but since we're visiting at the moment, I'm with them. Perhaps one day we'll be able to bring them over to the States, but we need a different house and location first. For now, they're very happy and very spoilt where they are, although I miss them!!

Dog person here. Cats seem to like me (my hubby's ex has a ton of them) but I prefer dogs.

Hubby (and our sons) would like to get an iguana but I can't stand the thought of having a reptile in our house.

I'm a definately a dog person. Always love them & always have them around. Have a pug right now and hopefully soon we could get a big dog like Lab-Retriever.

My kitty is more entertaining than the TV and comp combined She's also cute and fluffy I've always had cats.

I have 1 dog named Naná here in Brazil... and 3 cats (Gabriel, Skank and Ivete) that I love VERY much but never met in person since they live in the US with Dave. It's so cute that they recognize my voice and when I tell them to do something through the web cam, they do!!!

Naná turned 8 years old this year and she's been with me since she was born! She's a big part of my life and she knows me and she's been with me more than anyone else in this whole world!
Before her I've had hamsters, different kinds of birds, rabbits, fish..... so you can already tell I love animals!!!

We don't have any pets. I'm not a pet person. If we were ever going to get one, it'd be a dog. (I'm allergic to cats).

In December we had 4 dogs..all black labs...By feb we had 9 !!! Gracie had puppies..how did that happen !! We found homes for Roxy, Benny, Oliver and Zak, just got Ozzie left now, so we are back down to 5
No more puppies for me ...it's everytime one goes....

Three much-loved and much-spoiled cats... I never had pets till we got married because my parents were allergic (mostly an excuse becuase my mother hates cats with a passion!) but I always adored cats and couldn't wait to get one... so we ended up with three!

My husband and I decided to take a little dog for me about a year ago...
He wasn t for the idea of a dog at the starting...
We went to all the dogs shelter in Denver... Without any luck...
Look all around in the papers as well... No luck
then found one o craigslist.
We looked for a dog for about 2 months.
The reason why we took a dog was for me as i didn t have a lot of friends we thought that getting me a fluffy one be good..
Her little dog is really part of the family...

We have seven cats .

We have three cats. It started off with just one but then we thought she might like some company. Then we were up to two and finally we got the second cat's sibling. That'll be the last cat for now.

My husband and I looovvveee dogs !! He just cannot live without them We only have 1 dog now since we live in small apartment, but we would like to have more once we get our own house. I think talking birds will be cool, but I don't know if I could stand their smells. Definitely no cats since hubby is very allergic to them.

I love all animals, but my apartment is so small, so for last few years all ive had are rats... Ive owned five in all and they make wonderful pets. The sad thing is they only live around 2-4 years. At the present I have one female named Munnar. Ive lost four, India, Eli, Asia, and Casper.................

Don't have any pets right now, but I love cats, I have had dogs, and I have also had aquariums. I miss my fish tanks, but they are a lot of work. I would love to have a nice salt water tank.

I like all animals. I like cats better because you don't have to take them outside all the time and I can leave them alone for longer than a dog. They are fine even for a weekend away. Dogs are a little too needy and clinging but they are great. Cats are so unique, have such cool personalities. Plus their lazy like me.

I miss my beloved Rottie; Rockefeller- he was so sweet and so very smart and would constantly make me laugh. He's been gone for 3 years now and I still miss my "son" . I live in a condo now and cannot have a dog his size but I want to get a new puppy early next year.

Have had a dog before, have two cats now. Listed as 'cat person'. My fiancee' is a 'cat person' as well.

I love all animals but am definitely a cat person. We have 5 now but I had 6 when I moved down from Canada. My Eldest, Kirsty, had a rough time with the trip and never fully recovered. She died 6 weeks later at 15 years and is buried on the back hill with a small garden to mark her grave. Tristan is now 12, Abbie and Freija (sisters) are 6 and Lion and Bear - two kittens that I bottle raised when they were orphaned with their sister at 10 days old - are 4. They are my 'children'. Joe has had both cats and dogs all his life, and enjoys being their adoptive 'dad'.

I have two dogs. Sadie a Visla who is dying of Lymphatic cancer. The third type of chemo has stopped working. She is my best friend ever. The other dog is Lady. She is a pit bull. Very friendly. My ex-girlfriend got her from the pound. My ex-girlfriend is psychotic. I know all men say that about their ex-girlfriends but she actually saw little green men and demon fuckers. One time after we built a fire and had a barbecue we were driving down a dirt road. She was seeing demon fuckers everywhere and was screaming at me for turning Lady into a wimp dog. I ran over a branch and said "######, just ran over a demon ######". She was not amused. she said "let me out". So I let her out and drove around the corner. (Was not going to leave her there with the little green men, demon fuckers not to mention the mountain lions.

She walked up. She said "thankyou so much, I was so scared, but I am still mad at you." We stayed together until she called the police on me for "turning her dog into a wimp dog". Anyway, Pets are great.

I have a 3 yrs. old mixed poddle(terrier) since his 3 mos. old who slept with me.

My fiance have 1 male & 2 female rottweilers, they slept with him in his bed. We need bigger bed later 'coz there's no enough place for me.
